Feels more like someone who'd be giving me drinks from a cart rather than someone mercilessly raining rockets down on me from the sky

I love that Drawing style, cause it reminds me of P&SWG somehow...

the 1960s was around the time period when women first started getting out of the home-front, usually desk jobs, nurses, or mechanics in the terms of the military scene, so it might make sense for it to seem that way.

tell me how to draw heads please
all my heads literally look like potatoes with eyes and a mouth
And you drew this yourself? With no outside references?
i don't trace no, but i do use references for poses, shapes, outfits, and in some sense drawing styles. Its Best explained as art-style mimicking, an ability that allows me to almost perfectly draw something that I've seen before hand, sometimes it can even happen when un-intended.
This particularly has influence from 1960s dress outfits, Mighty No.9 and Mega Man artwork, and tf2.

Needs less sass and more HUTTAH, NECK SNAP! and strong jawlines, you gotta remember that when you're drawing female Soldier

Unless you're some form of prodigy I seriously doubt that you can so perfectly mimick the exact pose and line-art down to every single pencil stroke unintentionally, especially considering how suspect it is that you have a front and back shot in almost the exact same manner as the original Might No.9 concept art. I'm not going to pursue this any further mind you, because I'm a nice guy and don't really care to shit up the media thread, but I will post the original concept art to let others come to their own conclusion.

to further allow explanation to this, i did indeed use this one as reference, its only occasionally an issue with accidentally drawing something. Never intended to make it seem as if i was amazing, i even stated here:

i don't like tracing as i find it lame, but i'm aware that this isn't much better.
if it pleases you to know, this is what made from the original image.

Any other bits that resemble the original are un-intentional

Ah gyah that
Please someone make that
At least for like SFM
Eyeballing stuff is an ok thing to do.
you eventually either feel like develping stuff on your own and break away from it since you know have the knowledge and influences and realize every single piece of work you need demands you to futher improve and set yourself in your own, unique perception of the world and its surroundings.
or you simply stick to mimic other's work as if it was some sort of diaper you need in order to be relevant to others.
You know I'd actually really like to see that drawing adapted to a more TF2-like artstyle
also I love what she's wearing

This is my usual feelings on the subject, since i'm not good at human characters,i usually eyeball for a base to use. However I've been practicing human structure and hope to eventually work on it without a base. For the meantime i stick to using bases because i'm still awful at people.
That being said:

I dunno, it still seems kinda sexualized, the pants and jacket seem a tad too skintight

To be honest, the pose he keeps basing these on is a pretty sexualized one.
