He really does deserve at least some kind of reward. For the love of God he made mech suits that can actually fit with the art style! He made a giant spider tank that can shoot flying drones! He even created power suits that run on Bonk! How many other people have done something nearly as awesome? A Wrench in the Gears deserves a Saxxy just as much as Lil Guardian Pyro.

it's not wasted. nothing stops him from submitting it next year, and he did say there are things he wants to improve. stop being a little baby with the "everyone's a winner" attitude. it's a contest. fairness matters.

You gotta be honest: if he was late, he brought it on himself. He couldn't finish the video in time, as awesome as it is, it's his fault, not Valve's. However he definitely should be rewarded something for it, like... a golden wrench?

hmm the view counts are starting to slow down.
although the like vs view ratio is maintaining.
i'm seeing a TON of slow motion drama videos. before learning sfm i felt like they were just cliche'd attempts at being artsy. AFTER learning sfm my view of them is even worse. now they just scream to me "i can't animate."

As neat as this trailer is, does anyone else think that this trailer is the worst animation ever produced by Valve? The motion capture is so evident it hurts. Some animations are good, but they are really weak overall. There's even some stuff that even I, or anyone else in the community with some experience, can improve on. Especially with this coming out during the Saxxies, this really looks bad by comparison. Laying off the animators really does show.
Anyway, that's my rant over. Sorry if I sound like a cynical asshole or something. Just wanted to get it off my back. :v:

I actually sadly have to agree. While there aren't really any "worst" animations, they are all really great, it doesn't seem as good as their older ones. I think the mvm trailer looked better than all their previous ones, but this one seems like a step down in quality. Maybe it's just rushed for a small update I don't know.
Well it's a kinda small hype update and it's only a minute long to demonstrate medic's 2 "new weapons"
