I completely agree.
He never uses lighting in his videos either, and all the characters are always jerking and moving really fast with excessive movements and it seems real rushed. Sorry ;(

It's content that is produced on a regular enough basis, is short enough for easy consumption and distribution, is simple enough to elicit mild mirth. Take all of those factors and you get popularity.
The simple fact is that if people are not entertained or somehow gripped by a video in a timely fashion, they just move on. by jumping right to the core content of the video (the silly nonsesne) angrysockpupet grabs the casual viewer's attention, and the casual viewer is more likely to share something that is immediately entertaining rather than technically impressive.
These sorts of factors are why he's popular. the people who follow him are not interested in techically impressive or higher brow content, they want a quick giggle and to move on to the next thing in their inbox.
I am not saying this is a bad or a good thing, but these are simply the reasons WHY he's so popular.

I made an analysis a few pages back, he seems to have a formula he follows religiously now. reuse old hashes, make spy do something random and end the video with everyone dancing or screaming. i know you should stick to what you know, but he seems to drive his jokes into the ground. i thought the medic dance was pretty funny until he started shoving it into every video to say "hey guys!!!! remember this????lol!!!!".
i do respect his TSA, his older ones anyways.

Motion blur's a bitch, and that's why everything looks like shit forever, but it took a million-billion eons to make this stupid thing, so you're gonna watch it, and you're gonna like it.
And I'm apparently the bee of the SFM world because I should not for any reason, be able to work a Source FIlmFest on this laptop, and that's why I'm not rendering this again.
Doc made a puppet script that's amazing, except it doesn't work on root transforms, and that's why we have to put up with floating Heavy torsos.
I don't care any more. Go away.
I just cut myself on that edge.
That fucking dance he's shoehorned in like 15 of his videos.
And another one floats away on his inflated ego-balloon.
Ya know, you began to see it later on in his videos videos that his ego was growing like a Deviantart expanding fetish. He began using more and more mods, and just making randumb stuff instead of actual gameplay. I still like his videos but I do hope they improve fast.

I think most of them are okay and pretty good. That one was dumb but that doesn't make all of his suddenly stupid. The video game knight one was very well done and did deserve it's spot in the Saxxy's finalists. People don't like the videos because it's him, they like the videos because a good portion of them are actually good.
His last TSA was mediocre at best, to be honest.
His old TSAs were easy to understand, yet the more recent ones are so busy, you need to read the description to see the point he's making.

The last one was pretty clear, at least for me.
Kritz is awesome, except for sentries.
Short, and clear.
Pretty funny too.
There is a lot of bandwaggoning going on here. Maybe we should just move on.

Never thought that extremely old joke vid of mine getting that many views simply due to EOTL :v:

I think it's more a matter of people who didn't like his recent work in the first place feeling more confident to say so without being showered with dumbs.
This isn't really something for or against him, but the way he animates the characters is always very unique. I can immediately tell that it's his video when I see that, but I don't know how I feel about it

I wouldn't call it a mark of quality, but yeah, I know what you mean.
he announced that he's really tired of TSA, as the series itself began quite stall and put him under "presure" to make them, wich leads to the decision of having less of these and more of the "original content" he has been delivering lately(wich to be honest i am really not into). one of the main reasons for his own TSA series is the fact that most of the points he tries to convey during said TSAs were not being used to ilustrate new players about common tf2 elements but instead by old players to mock around about said elements, wich in the end render the point of said videos useless.
While i do admire that unique, special touch he can put on some of his animations(Quest of the demoknight was unique and by far my candidate for the saxxy, imho), he's just suffering the same issues other people like rubberfruit and the like experienced when their viewers and followers turned what was once a universal gag an extremely repetitive braindead inside joke. In that very case, you either try to educate your followers into something new, or simply shoehorn the same old mechanic/joke until you only do it for the views.

this has to be a joke.

I'm pretty sure he needs to take some time off to calm down and regain his confidence and get some new ideas.
Just pumping out half-hearted, rushed stuff like this isn't "healthy", if you will.

as well made as it is, it's hard to take seriously looking at tf2 characters.

I didn't really understand the ending to it. What was the big deal about them being band geeks?

That's all he saw them as, he never thought there was anything deeper to them than that, his own prejudices and stereotypes he stamped on them. He couldn't conceive of the fact that they could in fact be sleeping lions that he would unleash from timid, well meaning teenagers to murderous sociopaths because people would not stop fucking with them.

This is the first SFM comic I've ever seen.
I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen more of them.
I've seen a few SFM comics.....Just were NSFW in the slightest, lol.
