Are we resorting to melons? In that case...

I'm trying to get into SFM a bit in anticipation of making glamour shots for some models I'm making, figured I'd start with properly lighting a subject.

I still love how smokers in L4D2 will literally fly away into the horizont if killed with enough force.

Seeing a hunter ragdoll mid air and start cartwheeling through the sky has always been a personal favorite, I love it almost as much as TF2's weird lag thing where a body will play the headshot/backstab animation and then go sliding across the floor.

Why does that remind me of the spy knife that sent you flying on backstab?

I don't know what upsets me more: the player models or their seneless speeches
I don't know what upsets me more: the player models or their seneless speeches
Yeah, One thing to note is that half the player models are creepy/cringey in that server. Followed up with so many noise effects for doing something. But the gamemode is quite fun from time to time since it is basically a "Hale vs Hale" gamemode that works for some to most maps.

Gee I wonder
Gee I wonder
I was talking about the one that spent the Spy flying backwards when he backstabbed someone.

The point from YourBreakfsat still stands.
The point from YourBreakfsat still stands.
I mean someone came up with a concept for a spy knife that sent you backwards when you successfully backstab someone which someone made into an actual model.

made a model for the space program I guess
That's the base one.
When backstabbing: goes in like this:

And pops out like this, causing you to fly (and probably damage your arm):

Depends on what you're posing. If its stuff like that demoman, ragdoll mover isn't really needed.

His videos used to be pretty good at teaching new players. This one was just weird, especially towards the end.

oh its necessary when you're dealing with maxxy's rigging, plus i like the control
This is a prime example of why I don't really do these any more. It started out good, but the lesson was far too technical to pull off in SFM without words. Also, about half way through, I stopped giving a shit and just did whatever with it. And what do you care? You people don't even watch these for education.
He's a little full of himself :x
You think after with messing with SFM so much he would actually make his animation more controlled and actually use lighting correctly. His misleading thumbnails are getting real annoying too...
But anyways... content?

The way he animates also isn't even animation :(
His technique really just looks like blocking out how you want a character to stand in different parts of the video, then just having their parts move to that pose very robotically in like a fifth of a second.
I'm not sure if it's tweening, but I believe that's the term for it.
