there's an indepth strategic use for every barrel.
say you're running away with low health, and the enemy following you has 1 hit of ammo left. If you manage to push the barrel in front of him, and he without thinking hits it, he's now out of ammo, and while he was looking at the prop you were running away.
you can even shoot them once with something to hide in them for a bit

It works on all custom maps with props too, like your friendly neighborhood mariokart.

actually, yeah.
I remember I did that once as a heavy on dustbowl stage 2, I came out as soon as a bunch of them gathered up on the tunnel and killed them all, they never suspected a thing.
I even had a screenshot of myself hidden on the barrels but I can't seem to find it right now.

I totally forgot that you could hide in some barrels. Can you still do that?
I like to use the loch 'n load to push the barrels a little bit while I'm on top of them so I fall right in and lay sticky traps all over. They never suspect a thing.
