Compare it to the Thigh Boot, latex clad "Femme Pyro" everyone pictures - it's a step forward!
It's still my honest opinion that the straps from the over-sexualized fem pyro are pretty cool, and that a proper fem pyro would just be stock pyro with the straps from the overly sexualized one:

That's some really neat stuff for a first render!
But make sure to render in 1920x1080 resolution next time, I love the way how the lighting works here, and maybe use a different background , since it doesn't really seems to fit for tf2 artstyle. ( otherwise its really cool, keep it up! )

Didnt the comic artist draw female mercenaries a while ago, and she said she likes to think they would have their own personalities instead of just being a gender swap

every single person out there who has done a female/oc character based on tf2 probably thinks the same way though.
the thing is, gameplay wise they sort of need to stick to the simpler genderswap thing for the sake of readbility.
I like to think that a gender swapped character would be just like Fem!Shepard from Mass Effect. She acts like Male!Shepard but has just have enough character in her looks to not make it look like Male!Shepard with Boobs.

No but she gave them her own personality as in the soldier was younger than scout and hyperactive, not a gender bent soldier who happens to be emo and likes the color dark red
