In the case of Gmod stuff, Mssnor and BenderAKAUnder come to mind. ARMaster also abandonded his channel only to come back a week later or so like nothing happened, like he was just trying to grab attention.

I used to think this kind of thing was totally unjustified, but I'm starting to realize why someone would do that. After a while you could actually end up absolutely hating some of your old work and just want to get rid of it and move on. It's like trying to hide all of your awkward high school yearbook photos or something like that.
I'm going through a similar deal with all of my YTP shit, I can't stand to look at them and don't like acknowledging them because I want to be remembered for my effects and my animations, not for The Quest for Dinner and Mario's Head Has Gas.
However, flat out removing all of your old shit can just cause a lot more problems than it solves, I'd say the best course of action would be to make an alt and then upload all the old shit there as an archive of sorts. Straight up removing all of your old shit like some kind of demonic demon is just being a bad sport, unless you're getting into actual trouble with it or something.

If you email the TF2 team, they have typically taken responses from other user requests to put high quality versions of promo banners/art on their website's art section. I believe that is how the Assassin's Creed Spy art got on there. Definitely would not hurt to send a request.
