Fun thing is that it borrowed a voiceline from Lich in Dota 2, who for those not in the know was also voiced by Gary Schwartz. He also voiced Sniper, Pugna, and Shadow Shaman; to his credit I can't hear too many traces of Heavy or Demo in any of those voices, unlike when MvM rolled around and the Heavy and Demo voicelines seemed to have traces of either voice bleeding in. I'd show some like to evidence, but the TF2 wiki is apparently down.

And that's pretty understandable, as didn't he have some kind of throat infection at the time?

It's actually not that bad. Also, the words Heavy and Bear in the same sentence brings back memories of that old "ursine remodel" of the Heavy, which was basically an anthropomorphic bear modelled to look similar to Heavy. And to the creator's credit, it actually looked kinda neat; fair bit of effort put into it. I forget who actually made it though, but if I recall correctly it might still be on fpsbanana.

Heavy's VA had a serious throat infection/illness at the time of the mvm recordings.

At the same time, it can't be too blocky/modern like BLU's is either.
