so we can change all of the playermodels to piles of shit, as well as all of the map textures in the game to justin bieber's face the models have the same exact size in hitboxes, and the bieber faces are positioned to fit with the map
skin of the week right there!
The game's monthly fee isn't $15, sillies.
Yes and no
The current price for Rift is $49.95 for standard edition and $59.95 for the Collector's edition. The 1st month of game play is free and then each following month the subscriber will be billed $14.95. For a limited time if you pre-order the game you will be eligible to receive Rift's founder's club discount. The discount lowers the monthly subscription price if you purchase the 3 or 6 month plan. The 3 month plan is $11.99/month billed $35.97 every 3 months. Or the 6 month plan $9.99/month billed $59.94 every 6 months.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rift_(video_game)#Pricing_Upfront.2FRecurring [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline]
so we can change all of the playermodels to piles of shit, as well as all of the map textures in the game to justin bieber's face the models have the same exact size in hitboxes, and the bieber faces are positioned to fit with the map they don't effect gameplay so its ok
http://www.gamebanana.com/maps/140104?vl%255Bpage%255D=2&mn=1&qpost=5792756 :v:

I don't see how MMOs have the gall to charge a monthly fee. No other genre does, but it seems to have become common practice for an MMO, it's really stupid.
Oh fuck, I'm arachnophobic, that's gonna suck to see that in game.
more like your personal tactical advantage. fear leads to war
I know this helps games sell and all but come on Valve... there is such a thing called "no." This is just unfitting. REALLY unfitting.
I don't see how MMOs have the gall to charge a monthly fee. Plenty of games have a lot of content and cost the same as everything else, MMOs.
I don't see how MMOs have the gall to charge a monthly fee. They only ask you to purchase the expansions when you can to continue playing the newer quest lines.

But yes, they're the exception to the rule, and the only good one.
When I play games I look at both as I am not a simpleton. I want something that is aesthetically pleasing, so I am not looking at overly repeating textures, or horrible lighting. Something easy on the eye, yet entirely distinguishable. TF2 provided that so well for so long, while keeping game play at a great level.
Well that's nice, but there's a huge percentage of people complaining about how the art style is ruined over items that are either upgrades or unbalanced (can you believe that it took Valve 1-2 years to finally balance the Natasha since the Heavy update?). And that's really a huge problem considering the most important aspect of any video game is being able to play it and have a fun experience, sure graphics can add things to your experience, but when companies and communities even, focus on that too much they tend to forget about how well the game plays and thus ruin the fun experience.
Oh, and, they know they can get away with it. Impudence at its finest.

It's taken a back seat in my views as I can still counter almost anything, any time. The Natascha nerf did irk me a bit. But it wasn't obscenely overpowering anyway, not many heavies used it due to the lower DPS. Almost all the major imbalances get worked on instantly, and with the beta they can do it more effectively. But Valve have been neglecting their art style for so long now, the gameplay itself works well still, but the fact they are breaking up a wonderful style, just to fit to one community of whining children is slightly annoying. It takes no effort to not break the style, community submissions must contain some matching items which could have been picked over what they did surely?
Actually - make those items untradable after preordering ends and watch them rage. .
Please Promotional items should be untradeable (and no gift wrappables)
Before we know it we will have more promo's than normal items.
Promo's were sort of okay, but seeing as valve has started adding stats on them this could lead to unique stats for promo items, which is bad
Promo's were sort of okay, but seeing as valve has started adding stats on them this could lead to unique stats for promo items, which is bad
I doubt they'll do that.
I need more idling TF2 accounts. I'm not going to buy a game I have no intention of playing. (I would play this but that monthly fee is stopping me) ... I need more money.
If you like rift, buy it (hey there's always the free-items thread to get rid of any unwanted items...) If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you see somebody with the items, just call them a massive faggot and move on. The TF2 art style was broken a long time ago and it's never going back. If you still play TF2 then you have learned to put up with a lot already. Personally I don't think this is as bad as unusual hats. Also (slightly off subject), to repeat what somebody said pages back, MNC is a good game and worth the price. Don't buy it for the items, the items are shit, buy it for fast-paced team-based gameplay, similar but also very different from TF2. But never buy rift at all. It's never going to be worth it.
Probably 50 dollars. [editline]2[/editline] Like a regular fucking PC game should be.
Why should PC games be expensive? At least Valve has good pricing. (Modern Warfare 2's price is still the exact same as Black Ops!)
There are two things about this that make me puke. 1: The items. They look, in lack of a better word, like microwaved shit. I will get a re-model or at the very least a reskin for them as soon as possible. 2: I just realized that the next promotion will probably be even worse. So far, just about all items, including promo hats and items, have been going in a downward spiral. These look bad, yes, but in half a year they'll look acceptable next to the things we'll have by then.
I doubt they'll do that.
I'll just refer you to this thread. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1001375-Microtransactions-for-the-Polycount-Packs

I'm done. I give up. TF2 is dead. :frown:
Oh god. You need a continuous subscription? No way. Only reason why I play WoW is because I have like fourteen of those 30 day demo cd's.
