I just noticed... Look in the second one. The Direct Hit doesn't have a shadow...
I see nothing wrong with it, personally. Continue. The only flaw I see now is the black splotch where the scope was.

9/10 times areas like that have been UV'd, so that is not really a problem
So the Texporter UV Mapping is failing, the material sphere shows this weird gradient thing but when I drag it onto the model it doesn't change colour.
EDIT: None of the UV alligns I've done look good anyways, I can't see the face of the shield to design.

I was wondering if it was possible to fix the soldier not reloading anything in 1st person, when he reloads the direct hit. I find it odd that The Direct Hit is able to turn the soldier's dead skin into fully-functional rockets.

Instead of asking people here to do it, how about asking Valve? They'll probably patch it in an update soon anyways, if it's really bugging you that much. And by you, I mean 50.01% of the community.
