I'm having problems with a .mdl edit that I'm doing. I'm trying to get Bill's Hat to use separate skins for each model, without decompiling. But when I do, I can get the Red skin to work, but not Blu. Can anyone help?

I think it's rendered or, he was just luck with that screenshot from the modelviewer. Still it doesn't look that realistic to me.

What do you mean without decompiling? You need a texturegroup line in the qc, like so:
