Its a listen server so ping will probably be bad, anyways in this server you'll bet an item, then fight another person for they're item.

You don't bet it before hand, you call out an item you'd like to bet, and then somebody else calls you on it with a different item.
Then after somebody wins, they exit the arena and get the item the enemy was betting.
After that, repeat.
