in my times you don't fucking have an armor and energy weapons, YOU ONLY HAD A PISTOL AND A KNIFE, and if you were lucky an assault rifle or a SMG
The ammo was very limited, and the zombies didn't drop anything!

How old is old? Because the oldest 'scary' game I can think of is AVP Marine campaign and you had a pretty wicked weapon loadout in that game.

probably, the same goes for vintage fixatives, shines, and gatsbies, seeing as how a vast number of them were apparently purged on drop before trading was out

I think that RE1 and RE2 had flamethrowers, and In RE2 there wasn't extra ammo for the flamethrower,
Grenad launchers yes, but the best option was to save the ammo for the bosses
