Last 45 minutes I've been sat at my main menu (which is an animated map background so it classes as a local server) waiting to get into a server, 4 items have dropped around 12 minutes average between them and I'm about 20 items over the normal cap limit so far.
The increase is quite large I'd say.

Why not, looks awesome by the way Communist Cake, and be glad you feel left out of the Golden Wrench craze, there's nothing to be crazed about.
Two reasons:
1. It looks cool.
2. It covers the tip of the nails with some kind of toxin. I don't know. I just want it to look cool.

I think it'd look even better if you had the syringe tilted toward the barrel. It would give a sort of... sharp look that would mirror the nail-y-ness, if you kwam*.

Syringe needs to pump back when a shot is fired.

Tested it with facial animation doesn't really mess with it at all. At least not with the lens part, however with extreme animations (slider completely to ther ight) it does slightly clip with the top part of the headgear, might enlarge that area.
