From what I have seen, basic slapstick cartoons are being replaced with shows with actual plots that extend beyond 10-30 minutes.

I'm sorry, but from what you have typed it really seems like you don't have proper exposure to cast fair judgment.

FYI not all anime is dragon ball z. And I thank god for that every day.
