I will when I paint my own texture. The sandman texture is temporary, and won't be used in the final texture.

Fire card is a temporary stand in for the future inclusion of the particle effect.
Texture is also a basic placeholder.
Looks nice and could be pretty well done. However, when someone says "can you change this for me, I think it'll look better" you should politely say "I'll see what I can do kind sir", not "fuck off, I can make my own project!"
Huh what Omolong I'm new to this please explain what I need to do :S.

http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Body_Groups
Every Source modeller should know this.
Ok what I don't get is why the bodygroups aren't set up in the decompiled .qc I got from the engineer'_hands.
Model Decompiler's don't decompile them properly.
Here's an example
$bodygroup "rightarm"
{
studio "c_glove_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
studio "c_ashsarm_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
}
Don't be so rude Omolong, about all Source modellers. What the fuck.

YESSSS FIREMAN.
Gotta love these megaman mods hitting at the same time.
So is this what I need to do?:
$cd "C:\Users\Max\Downloads\TF2 Stuff\Weapons\Engineer\Gunslinger\ashs_hand\final"
$modelname "weapons\c_models\c_engineer_arms.mdl"
$bodygroup c_engineer_arms
{
studio "c_engineer_arms.dmx.smd"
}
$bodygroup rightarm
{
studio "c_glove_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
studio "c_ashsarm_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
}
$cdmaterials "models\player\engineer\"
$cdmaterials ""
$texturegroup skinfamilies
Also you should use
$bonemerge weapon_bone
$bonemerge weapon_bone1
$bonemerge weapon_bone2
$bonemerge weapon_bone3
$bonemerge weapon_bone4
$bonemerge weapon_bone5
Instead of the attachments.
Don't be so rude Omolong, about all Source modellers. What the fuck.
It wasn't an insult or anything. I was just saying that anyone who models for Source needs to learn about bodygroups at one point.
-snip-
Nevermind, put something like this
$model "c_engineer_arms" "c_engineer_arms.dmx.smd"
$bodygroup rightarm
{
studio "c_glove_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
studio "c_robotarm_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
}
But with your SMD instead of the c_robotarm one.
So is this what I need to do?

$cd "C:\Users\Max\Downloads\TF2 Stuff\Weapons\Engineer\Gunslinger\ashs_hand\final"

$model "c_engineer_arms" "c_engineer_arms.dmx.smd"
$bodygroup rightarm
{
studio "c_glove_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
studio "c_ashsarm_bodygroup.dmx.smd"
}
$cdmaterials "models\player\engineer\"
$cdmaterials ""
$texturegroup skinfamilies
Ok thank you all and don't worry Omolong I didn't read it as being rude I read it like what you just said. Never really read any tutorials or anything from Valve Wiki :P so far just decompiled crap and worked it out that way.
Just a quick question: It happens that I've made team coloured skins of the sapper, however I have no idea how to take a fancy picture (Heck I won't even be able to take an ingame screenshot since I'm on a computer that can't run TF2 at the moment) Does anyone know what I could possibly do?
Source SDK?
[editline]11:09PM[/editline]
@JoshuaC Will you submit that gun to Valve?

Blargh, but wouldn't I need to download the 2gb one which includes hammer just to get model viewer?
Edit: Yeah I'll have to do so
BEHOLD

I compiled the vmodel and the wmodel.
However I am afraid of going to fpsbanana now...
Blargh, but wouldn't I need to download the 2gb one which includes hammer just to get model viewer?
Yup. Worth it though. I don't even model and I have it.
Not sure yet. I'm still playing around with my options for the wood.
Amazing what a little AO and some reshaping will do.
Can you add some detail on the grip?
Like this

EDIT: The pump could also use some detail.
I compiled the vmodel and the wmodel.

Don't care what they think, and put a link in the description as a reference pic.
Yup. Worth it though. I don't even model and I have it.
Yeah just annoying having to download that for a modelviewer on a reserve PC i probaly won't use ever again (My GPU is broken on my actual computer)
Anyways what needs to be done needs to be done.
Ok everything seems to be in order in the submodel tab but I can't see the arms or anything in HLMV.
The font used in the mini promos, where would I get that?
However I am afraid of going to fpsbanana now...
I won't got to FPSB the next few days.
Also you should use
$bonemerge weapon_bone
$bonemerge weapon_bone1
$bonemerge weapon_bone2
$bonemerge weapon_bone3

ahh cool I always wondered what was going on there
dropbox? Firesmelt? Theres many places you could put it for the time being.
The font used in the mini promos, where would I get that?
In the UI folder, in tf.

OH! I didn't notice that the dark brown bits made a pattern when the knife fits together! I thought the texture was shit at first, but now: :iia:
