Ahh Swizzle's models there so AWESOME. Sadly, he's only making them for his portfolio not releasing them for a bunch of reasons, he also purposely choose to make the textures and parts of the model not fit with the 1980's classes.

I'm just wondering, why make it have so much detail, if it's going to be covered up the the heavy's hand all the time?

Also there's no issue with nice small details, he doesn't neccesarily have to fully unwrap those parts he can just unwrap certain areas to a plain color.
Is it bad that I'm afraid of making my models too high poly?

Looks so unprofessional.[/QUOTE] I don't mean not unwrapped properly, I hate that too, I mean certain things like buttons/cable etc don't need to be fully unwrapped so you can just put a plain color in the shape of a square and unwrap them into it that would be inside the unwrap alongside every other part of the model that is fully unwrapped. With phong it looks perfectly good, the Bonk! Helm actually just uses plain colors and phong. I'm not implying you shouldn't try and keep things as low as possible but there's no need to really worry about poly limits.

So now I've given it all to cake for final packing and such.

Those 1800's models look so damn good and fit TF2's style. Damn, I wish he would make the entire team but like some of you said, he isn't releasing them. Damn it.
