How much irl-money is a Max's Head worth? I've had one since that promotional event, and I've just been sitting on it.
Mother of God... Already been said but why, even if it's exclusive for just a little bit, it's still actual game-changing items, being exclusive for shilling out $50 for some game that has nothing to do with TF2. It just feels like it's one step closer to making actual fully exclusive game-changing items, that don't get some craft recipe or what have you later.
I once pre-ordered L4D2 and canceled it about a week later (decided I didn't want to spend $50 on it) before the bills hat was even announced. I got the Bills Hat for a while (even though my pre-order was canceled) and one day I logged in to find it missing :smith:
What if you 1. Pre-order RIFT 2. Receive genuine weapons 3. Trade away for 4 unusuals 4. Cancel pre-order
The new weapon stats are shit anyhow. Unless the volcano axe deals normal damage it is inferior in every way to the axtinguisher. Would you rather set people on fire with your melee, or kill them outright if they are already on fire? The sun on a stick is a goddamn joke. No normal scout would use that piece of shit. Congrats valve: you added 2 new horrible weapons that both suck gameplay-wise and theme-wise. This is an all new low.
Hi. I haven't used the weapons yet, but I'd like to point out some things. 1. Volcano Axe: In Medieval Mode/Melee Only it would do way more damage than the Axtingisher. Also it gets random critical hits. That puts it on par with the original weapon. 2. Sun Stick: Scouts teaming up with Pyros? Oh man, that's crazy talk! It's like you think the game was called Team Fortress... Oh, hi there. [editline]4th February 2011[/editline] Oh, and until they fix the bug (which pisses me off because I won't have the new axe until after the crafting recipes come out and it'll be fixed by then) currently the Volcano Axe causes infinite afterburn. This means that it never dies out. It will go out in water, grabbing a med kit, ubercharge, etc, but it'll never go out on it's own. That's SUPER op at the moment, but I bet it's funny as hell. It's the "Fuck Arena" Pyro weapon!
until they fix the bug, currently the Volcano Axe causes infinite afterburn.
Watch "Engulfs in flame" actually mean infinite afterburn and not be a bug.
Oh god, I can only dream of that, but if so it should do no hit damage whatsoever.
Hmmm, the concept of promotional items with stats is kinda concerning, if not for the fact that they'll be craftable after the promo ends, so everyone else will be able to get them a bit later. So they're not really promo-exclusive, but instead more like getting them earlier before they become widely available. The Genuine weapons'll probably be a bit more valuable than the Crafted ones, at least in the minds of "art dealers".
The items will lose their genuine state after there are traded. Now all these 11 year old faggots wont have to spam the chat with 'GENUINE ONLY!!!'.
make a server, call it old school fortress 2. You get the idea.
Oh god, I can only dream of that, but if so it should do no hit damage whatsoever.
Pyro vs Pyro, both have expended all of their ammo on others, both have the volcano axe. Literally all they can do is taunt at each other in hopes of scaring the other away.
Oh god this is the best Reading material i ever had in a while. Bunch of fanboys raging and everything on the SPUF
Genuine items were introduced with the Rift promotional items: Sun-On-A-Stick and Sharpened Volcano Fragment. These items were granted Genuine quality for those players who pre-ordered Rift before March 1, 2011. It should be noted that the genuine quality does not stay with the item after trading. Trading this item will return it back to a original quality state.
So genuine has nothing to say in trading.
gabe
So genuine has nothing to say in trading.
Yeah, but how many people read the wiki? I hope Valve's "scam trade notification" server crashes.
Now you can laugh at everyone who actually has genuine, because those folks had to PAY for it.
It's possible they will convert all trade "normal" Rift items to vintage in March. :P Edit, snipped the first part, also FUCK YOU MOUSE ARGGGH
I don't want to wait this whole month for new items anyway, I want them now. Guys, maybe there is that bug where you get melee token, pyro token and scrap metal to craft a weapon? It was possible with Poker Night stuff. And Pan.

With all the chatting about the Rift items, the LODs have become forgotten... Which weapons got LODs?
It is a mark of genius, a brief flash in the pan, that items lose genuine status. The items remain unique to the original owner, and if you didn't buy Rift you're stuck with the common one - that's a pretty damn clever way of limiting the value of the items whilst encouraging people to actually keep them, rather than use them as trading fodder.
Valve is a mastermind and we are but mere pawns in this twisted game.
Also, what exactly got fixed about the Brass Beast's Sounds? It's not the windup.
Wow, stats for promo items. :frown: Also, what exactly got fixed about the Brass Beast's Sounds? It's not the windup.

"The Sharpened Volcano Fragment and the Sun-on-a-Stick will be obtainable through crafting after the Rift pre-order period ends." Oh thank god From the Blog Just wait until Feb 24th for the items
Yeah, stop worrying, and if you are still complaining on how they are craftable promo items then okay.
Try it out. :D
I wish I could, I already have a melee slot, 2 weapons for Pyro I dont want to trade or craft, that's all. donate plz. :v:
Surely, not only the Brass Beast got LODs?
What got updated about the Brass Beast's sounds?
Watch as the blueprints cost 5 refined metal. You just watch.
Surely, not only the Brass Beast got LODs?
Buffbanner (flag) Eyelander Flamethrower Flaregun Brass Beast Equalizer Scottish Resistance
Who wants to bet they will be purchasable, 25 dollars each, in the store.
at least 25 dollars is cheaper than 50 dollars + subscription for mediocre looking MMO. ._.
The use of the mechanic aside, why is something suddenly not genuine anymore if you trade it? They could've left out the "Genuine" part and just add something like "Secondhand" in the beginning.
