• [Sourcemod Plugin] Equipment Manager 2 (fixed)

Sooo... what happens now?
Hopefully whatever Valve does won't be so harash on all of us. Worst case is that we lose modding support entirely, least worse is that Valve prevents servers from loading addons unless they register with them for approval. I'm just hoping they patch his method only and leave everything else alone. Really don't want to see all of my lifes work go down the drain because of this.
What I find funny is that Xykon previously stated he was done with TF2 back when he first released the equipment manager fix plugin on AlliedMods (which I thought was back in 2013, but I may be wrong)....and yet he's continued to work on and release more destructive shit. Regardless, I've emailed the mediafire link for his latest release to Eric S., asking him to forward it to the TF Team to figure out what exactly is in it and hopefully patch it without doing collateral damage to the rest of SourceMod. Why Xykon hasn't been banned from here and AlliedMods yet...I dunno. EDIT: Checked the source code. Fake player count, fake max player display, fake map name, fake bot count, and what appears to be a failed attempt at changing the server name (why even bother?). Hopefully that stuff is an easy patch for Valve. FYI: Do not use the SteamToolsExtras plugin/extension that Xykon has released. Using it to fake your player count/max player count/bot count/map name/server tags is a good way to get Valve to blacklist your server from the server browser. You've been warned.

(Wow, I haven't used this account in a long time)

If this plugin allows me to use this https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Storm_Spirit%27s_Jolly_Hat https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Clockwerk%27s_Helm https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Sniper%27s_Snipin%27_Glass on my private server, I will use it Who thinks that it is a good idea to give these items only to TI1 players?
Blacklist for quickplay For quickplay Still I don't think making fake players is nice.
The policy of truth applies to all servers. Violating it will get you delisted entirely.
I think this plugin would alright if you were to blacklist cosmetic items, which will make this plugin to be used solely for custom game content instead of sleazing existing paid ingame cosmetics for free/donation promotions. You'd have to remove the sourcecode from public view and only give it to people you trust so that others won't modify the code for illegal uses.

Against the SourceMod license. You'd end up in hot water with the people at AlliedMods. No matter what you do, someone is going to come along and modify it to unblacklist cosmetics. The only thing I could see working would be if Valve were to somehow separate weapons from cosmetics so that there would be no possible way in SourcePawn scripting to use cosmetic items (which means no custom cosmetics), but allow people to use custom weapon models. Either that or create a whole new function for custom weapons and cosmetics and hardcode restrictions right into TF2 that prevents existing models (vanilla cosmetics) from being used in the function. The function could throw and error and refuse to work if it detects a vanilla cosmetic. Of course people could just hex the models to give them a new filename. So it all comes back to "No matter what you do, someone will find a way around it".
