Ideas for pros: * Immediately disguises you as the target
A knife that disguises you as the target would be badass. Like in Meet the Spy where he kills the Medic and takes on his persona. Hunting people down and stealing their identity. Like the goddamn Predator or something. Shit yeah. Oh god page king.
I want that croc thing for Sniper.
Same here, but I'm a bit worried about it losing a shot at winning because of making a weapon concept too interesting. The TF2 team seems to want weapons that'd work as straight-out skins, so all they'll need to do is tweak a few stats and use all of the old animations. None of the "stabbing" animations would logically work with the razor, so I can imagine them going one of two ways with it if implemented:
All "stab" animations changed into "swipe" animations, and backstabs are turned into an animation where the Spy reaches past an opponent's head to cut his throat. This would require a large amount of animation work for every class, since more animations would probably be needed to make sure that an enemy having his throat cut matches up with the Spy doing the cutting.
or
All "stab" animations changed into "swipe" animations, and the razor's special ability is that it causes instant kills from the front. Having Spies with this type of ability mingling with standard Spies could cause huge side effects, and would require a large amount of playtesting to see if it would even be viable without causing hell-on-TF2-earth.
I like the razor a great deal, and would especially like to see what kind of havok type #2 up there would bring, but I'm not sure if the TF2 team would be assed to do all that for a single weapon.
I like Evil's entry, and I want it to win. However the reason I think it might have issues isn't because it's too "interesting", rather it is because it seems like his entry wasn't completely finished when he entered. It seems a lot of things still needed new animations and tweaks, I am unsure what Valve will think of this.
I hope someone will put the Demo Back in Demoman. Or a sniper update. that would be awesome!
I just hope valve doesn't make two out of three of the weapons useless as they seem to be so keen on doing with community weapons.

I'd change it to something like +50% melee damage from the front but with a longer time required to set up a backstab (like having to keep the enemy's back in your sights for 2-3 seconds to set up the razor before being able to backstab)
Let's just pray, pray hard enough for the Suburbian Scout and at least something for the Medic win. Nowadays, nobody cares about Scouts and Medics.
I care about medic, with nearing 40 hours for him >:( or 60, I forget
I care about medic, with nearing 40 hours for him >:( or 60, I forget
47.2 hours.
fpsbanana will crash from tf2 skin uploads after this
They can always delete Css section. [editline]12:10PM[/editline] I want those Rattlesnakes!

Scout and Medic are in most need for an update. Scout because his update sucked and Medic because it's been ages since the Gold Rush update.
I think Medic's been the most neglected in terms of unlocks. He's only got the three from his Update, nothing from ANY of the community updates, even though his Blutsauger tweaked once. If any class needs a new weapon, it's the Medic. And maybe Soldier, since he only got a conditionally-useful SHARED melee weapon by the name of the Pain Train, whilst Demo got Pain Train AND a whopping great axe from the community updates. So hopefully Medic and Soldier will get their due desserts in the next community update, though I honestly hope Soldier gets something awesome (i'm a Career Soldier), but still hoping for some change for the Medic. There's many different types of Buffs Medic could have, since there's more than just crits and invulnerability in the world.
would the medic topple over often?
Yeah, it looks a little off-balance.
People don't give the Bonk! pack enough love. The FaN-ish gun is SO SWEET, as for the pistol, :swoon: The bat is iffy, but it's alright.
the bat looks like a 2 second reskin from afar
More spy stuff needed, imo
Ah right, almost forgot about Spy. There's many things he could get for espionage an' the like. I'd consider something like the remote-controlled Stealth Rocket thing from Metal Gear Solid, but that'd probably be OP. However, I think that i've a more viable weapon for him; the Indifference Field. It replaces the Cloak, and has a strange effect on enemies and Sentries when active. When the Indifference Field is active, the aim of enemy players is sort of directed away from the Spy, meaning that even though the players very likely know you're there, they don't really want to know you're there, and even if they do, they'll have a hard time shooting you. As for Sentries, they'll end up shooting to the side of you if you're not disguised. The effect varies depending on how far away the enemy is, although it can cause a Sniper's aim to wobble when they're looking at you, regardless of the distance. You cannot Sap, Shoot or Stab when the Indifference Field is active, though you can still Disguise. It's a bit like "eye-floaters", those strange little things inside your eye that drift away from your direct vision when you try to look directly at them. Although I think this clip from Doctor Who will better describe the workings of the Indifference Field, although I guess you could also call it the Perception Filter if you wanna incur lawsuits from the BBC. (only the first half of the clip is necessarily relevant) So, do you think this could work? Or is it too "radical" for TF2?
People don't give the Bonk! pack enough love. The FaN-ish gun is SO SWEET, as for the pistol, :swoon: The bat is iffy, but it's alright.
we're on the same boat here. I LOVED the pistol. Which is why i hope they combine packs. BANG!'s pistol with cheesy's scattergun would be seex. or the "holy mackerel"
Definitely too radical. It's too much of an overhaul imo.
Really? How so? I thought it was quite a useful implement. But this is just like the basic idea, variables such as duration and magnitude are up to the developers and testers to decide. Sure it's different, but is it a good or bad thing? That's the most important part of all.
It's too different, and all it does is make the spy even more conspicuous, as everyone'll be wondering why their crosshair's sliding all over the place.
Personally I devised it with the intention of distracting enemies and disrupting their functionality. For example, a gun can't exactly hit anything if one's aim is being redirected away from their target, which is a big problem for precision classes like the Sniper and Direct Hit Soldiers. It isn't necessarily a tool for staying hidden and inconspicuous, it's more of a sabotaging kinda device, causing disarray and disadvantage. But maybe this kind of weapon isn't exactly for the Spy, no? Perhaps it is more suited to another class? And whom might benefit better from having an aim-disrupting weapon in their arsenal? These are questions I need to know, not beating around the bush.
Can't wait until tommorow,I want all the medic's stuff :3
The tank buster soldier and bigger is better engineer must get in.
Can't wait until tommorow,I want all the medic's stuff :3
I'm 99% certain they won't release the stuff the same day they announce it. I expect at least a 2 week delay. AT LEAST. They don't want to downplay the Engineer update already.
