I think Valve finally got the jist of how they should do promos. Give unique stats. Don't make another Headtaker, give some STATS. Make it craftable at least at some point. Don't make another Max's Head or Lugermorph.

Why are people hating promo so much? It's just so you can show other players that you own/ like a game. Nothing more. People who hate those seem to me like they hate what they can't get since they don't want to buy the associated game.

Though it's rather funny how a person can receive this huge amount of money by making some weapons and hats for a game. I won't be surprised if he got close to the same amount for this as he did with the Polycount pack.

This is probably the first batch of promo items I don't find disgusting as hell, but is actually pretty nice - balanced stats, good quality models and a theme that is a continuation of what Kabuto brought to the game. Honestly, I've waited ages for a katana to go with my Kabuto. What's better, all weaps are craftable/droppable. I dunno how about you but Valve convinced me that a promo update doesn't need to be a complete fucking bullshit like Rift or MNC items but can actually be quite pleasant. I just wish they made more stuff by themselves instead of just making a good use of community content

It's a promo item. It's basically saying:
"Hey look at this game we got the idea from it go buy it"
And if you do you get these for less effort than you would with crafting. I see no problem.

Keep dreaming. Ever since the crafting recipes for the Rift weapons was released, the value have gone down. I bet you can get the Rift set for earbuds now.
With luck we might be able to get a low tier vintage hat for the genuine noise maker.
