The last good sonic game IMO was Sonic Adventure. Then they started adding on stupid characters, inventing retarded gimmicks and started to slope down in quality.

The game was ruined after they renamed Robotnik to Eggman. Hopefully Sonic 4 will at least attempt to bring the "I'm running off the screen!" feeling to Sonic back.
