People is divided about Dick Mundy and that one name for the sniper, but i wouldn't take it as canon either
By that 'one name' do you mean Rick Mundy? Because that's the one I've heard being rumored as his full name. Which tbh sounds better than Mick Mundy. They got the name from the Sniper's no hat hat name. "Ritzy Rick's hair fixative"
Would be funny if he just disappeared this way and everybody would think he's dead, only for him to randomly reappear later with a crazy unbelievable story how he made it back to Earth.

Something along the lines of him punching his way into a soviet spacecraft and hijacking it.
Obviously said spacecraft would be piloted by that of Vladamir Bananas, the Russian monkey cosmonaut that Poopy Joe was racing to the moon. In a twist turn of events, Vladamir was captured by moon aliens and mutated into a cyborg alien communist gorilla. By using his American Zen, Soldier was able to block out the psychic waves of communist energy emitted by Vladamir, and he was swiftly beaten. After devouring Vladamir's corpse to gain his power, he commandeered the ship and made a crash landing in a blanket factory somewhere in Nevada.
Does anyone know the exact name for TFC Pyro's camo pattern (if there is one) on Cathcup comic, maybe even fitting clothes? I searched for ages and I really didn't find any that really made me feel ''It's this!''

Rick and Dick are essentially the same name, as both are derived from Richard

Could make for a fun back-and-forth.
"Hey there, Dick!"
"Don't call me that, Scout."
"Sure thing, Ricko!"
"Go back to Dick, Scout."
I'd like to quote this here, pretty relevant. Absolutely amazingly worded. From the "Catch up with TF Comics" thread.
They unionized and demanded better working conditions, better pay, and holidays off. The Mann brothers quickly fired them all and replaced them with cheaper, dumber mercenaries to continue their bout in their stead. Without a steady income from the Mann inheritance, the mercenaries went back to doing freelance mercenary work. Originally working independent from one another, they realized the value they brought to the table as a coherent squad. They've since been working for the government's less-legal branches performing "vigilante" justice like the A-team before the A-team even came into existence half a century later. They were given pink slips after the Poopy Joe fiasco brought to light the damaging weight they brought with them having been formerly overseen by Elizabeth; thusly the government wanted to sever ties before anything negative could come upon them. They relisted themselves on the black market to perform a variety of mercenary work. Without agreement, the Combat Medic had gone on a job that his colleagues refused to go on. With a hole in their squad, they posted and opening on the black market for a medical expert who has no problems getting his hands dirty. With a new squad member passing their qualification requirements with flying colors, they were hired by Gray Mann.
I was just re-reading the #3 comic and noticed TFC Engineer reaction on that panel.

Worst dad 2k14.
we still dont know if that particular engineer is the engineer seen in the engie update.
wich, at the same point raises the question that we might or might not ever know anything about the soldier's background, even though he has been featured in all 3 comics so far(sans some small bits and stuff), in comparision to people like the engie, the scout or even the sniper.
I can't help but feel like the TFC engie in the Engineer update was just intended as a reference to TFC with no intended connection to what is currently happening in the comics, but who knows.

Knowing that the soldier was rejected from every branch of the military and proceeded to go to Europe to fight Nazis (and continuing to do so even after the war ended) honestly is more than we know about the background of the sniper. We know nothing about the sniper's background beyond that he's from Australia and has two parents, though we may find out more about him in the next comic.

It is implied that Sniper was also an outback trophy hunter too.

He's not hunting his son.
His son is on the Moon. The mercs they're hunting aren't.
So I thought of something. Since Soldier murdered Tom Jones doesn't that mean that Scouts scheme of buying Tom Jones memorabilia might actually result in a profit?

Yeah, well, that was basically the joke here. So yeah, yes.
I don't really know how I missed it entirely the first time I read it.
I like the idea that the RED intel is filled with nothing but plans on how to steal the BLU intel and the BLU intel is filled with nothing but plans to steal the RED intel.
I forgot where I heard this before though.
We have an incoming update and lecture valley, what once was a weird joke might become another bit into tf2's history
The question is, how would a bread monster fit into the current lore

merasmus tends to be their goto answer for most things otherworldly nowadays it seems

I guess we'll know when the short arrives. The main question is if this upcoming set of events is related to previous occurrences. It's probably not going to be tied into the comic since that series will remain standalone and may only affect the game on its final issue. Maybe some of the loose ends from Pyromania might actually be cleaned up.

Apparently it's a freak-teleportation accident.
Yeah, context is everything. We'll be getting eased into it with videos with the team interacting with it and such. Plus it's origins seem plausible within tf2 logic and any good canon that involves teleporters will have a "This teleporter shit can go badly wrong" moment.
eg:

Teleporting gone wrong isnt something alien to tf2, though not necesary canon. Bill's beret and the fly costume are both related to the result of teleporting experiments(the later being a clever reference).
Still there is something that needs to be adressed in regards to the engineer. Now that TFC has been tied cannonically to tf2 and australia's role in the world has been defined as a tech powerhouse, i do remember that aussies already had teleporting fully developed by the end of the 19th century, wich is later seen being used widely by the TFC engineers in the 1920's.
Theoretically radigan did not create teleporting, merely sentries and the gunslinger tech, yet the device used by dell is somehow presented as a product developed by tf industries (as seen in the sentry's user manual). Could it be that such technology had been reverse enginered/stolen during tfc and introduced by tf industries/mann co worldwide? Would explain the mishaps seen in said teleporting issues and would/could be tied quite nice with the canon in the upcoming bread-based update, seeing it will put teleporting as a key element
I really wouldn't put it past Mann Co. to take tech and claim it as their own.
As far as respawning is concerned I've just kind of considered it technology similar to the reanimator.

I just assumed that the Medic has perfected the technology at work in "respawn rooms" to the point where he can be deploy it on the field.
Essentially respawn rooms are big, require a lot of resources, have to be incorporated into a building's layout, and have been a thing for awhile, but the Medic has taken it to the next level of development by making the technology portable.
The respawn timer is essentially the respawn room recovering the body/gibs.
It's not a perfect theory, but it's mine.
We had adressed that at some point, it kinda works when you consider the medic being keen on the concept of optomization and improvement of his work.
Completely off-topic, but I don't think there was ever an explanation of who the guy in the torn part of this picture was.

That image has been around since 2010 and there hasn't been a single explanation of who he is. Anyone got any ideas?
Well it's not Gray, but that's the only thing we know.

Also, I've been quite little behind on this ARG and the bread monster nonsense. Is tonight's update going to be the End of the Line update or something else?
[t]http://media.steampowered.com/apps/tf2/countdown/images/day0_testcard.gif[/t]
Many people seem to be theorizing that the four colored squares represent RED, BLU, GRN, and YLW, the latter two being teams featured in Team Fortress Classic or the Quake mod if memory serves correctly. That it might give rise to four-way arena modes where everyone is put on four small teams instead of two large ones. Olivia, Grey's daughter, is a clear reference to the GRN team both in the color of her dress and her name (Olivia = Olive = a shade of green). Who do you think is going to represent the YLW team if this comes to fruition?
No, it's definitely not End of The Line, that will be out July-August in the best case.
This is likely about the mutant bread insanity and the moonbase.
Well, while speculation is fun the update will be out in about ~7 hours anyways so personally I'm just gonna wait to see what we find out.
