i cant connect to any servers at all, it either says not responding or brings me to the connecting menu then gets stuck on connecting, or boots me back to the menu on retrieving server info.
the vaccinator is the worst medigun ever to exist in the history of mediguns
If I understand the ''featured community maps'' phrase correctly and keep in mind CS:GO's system of community maps temporarily featuring on official servers as part of Operations...
Borneo, Snowplow and Suijin aren't really official ''for good',' but are only temporarily gonna be part of the event and featured on official Gun Mettle event servers?
Bit of a shame, let's hope at least Borneo and Snowplow get enough positive feedback and playtesting to be made official for good even after the event is over. Suijin plays quite poorly in its non-Arena form and isn't optimized, I'm afraid. Perfect time to do some changes to Snowplow as well since there's always been some issues with it, I know that plenty of community maps featured in CS operations received feedback-driven changes while they were broadly played during each event. Several of them became full-time official as well.
Also, this might come across as me whining about the fate of comunity servers again, but the whole event simply assumes that Valve servers are the default and only proper way to play TF2. You can only do contracts while on Valve's event servers, and the stats tracked by the Campaign Coin also only update on official servers.
This is gonna streamline the vast majority of players during the event into QP even more.

Haven't tried it yet, but being able to give 3 or 4 different people 75% resistance shields for 2.5 seconds, or 2 people 5-second shields independently of who you're currently healing sounds rather useful if one could multitask it properly and choose the right resistances.
Is it not practical in reality? Feels like loads of people just overlooked that aspect of Vacc patch notes and just saw the lost crit resistances.
I think pretty much all of them can read. It's just a joke anyways.

Honestly no one is sure at this point. Even Y__M posted here yesterday he wasn't sure what was going to happen after the event was over.
Personally I'm guessing they'll stay official and this is how Valve is going to pay for community maps going forward since removing maps from the game would cause a lot of negativity from the community.
I did send an email to Eric Smith asking him to clarify (and asking if they would add map stamps in for these maps), if I get a response I'll post it here.
No map is being removed, if so they would've said so on the update page
Dunno, it's the exact phrasing (''featured'' ) and the exact same way of how CSGO community maps were presented during each of its Operations (on the update pages) A few of them returned for multiple Operations, but only a handful were made part of the Active Duty or Reserve Group map pools (=official status maps), the others slid back into custom status and weren't featured on official MM servers anymore.
No map stamps either, but the new way of financially supporting mapmakers (percentage of Pass sales) is very lucrative for mapmakers in CSGO, likely far more than stamps ever were in TF2.
We'll have to wait and see. Good way of making use of the map Workshop, nonetheless, and community servers with custom maps might receive some more traffic too.
Pauling implies in one of her new voiceovers that Engie's the only one in the bunch who can read.
doesnt heavy have a PhD in russian literature though? He's portrayed as pretty much being a genius in his own culture, in a sense. He also made a blog post.
And Spy is rich isn't he? He was reading a magazine in Expiration Date
Also I feel like someone who used to have a medical license could read.
Sniper is a pretty smart guy, and in his meet the team video you had him reading the phone book.
I'm pretty sure in a few TF2 shorts/comics Scout and Soldier have also been shown to be able to read.
Pyro was reading the newspaper in the most recent canon comic
So that only leaves Demoman, who I can understand seeing as he's perpetually intoxicated
So, you can make many copies of weapons via faking death via the Dead ringer, or by standing next a resupply and keep changing between your original weapon and a dropped one. :v:

quite shitty i'd say, and my potato of a computer cant run this game without dropping fps, so no fancy skins for me i guess
so what's this about being able to craft stock and achievements weapons like the Black Rose? Did they fuck up everything again?
"Must lurk?"
He directly mentions testinglol and showed off their screen.
Do you honestly think I watched more than the first couple of seconds?
Scout can read, he reads the Ghost DA book while jailed.

I'd say the first sentence renders your question rhetorical :)
I'm sure a bunch of stuff's been broken, various forms of jumping too, I hear, gonna take a week to fix probably.
Too bad today's the last weekday, they would've had more time to fix all the shit if the update came out on tuesday or wednesday.
Dude must lurk on Facepunch. Kibble made the (accidental) false collection of images at the very start of the video.
And if he just published the video then there was plenty of time to read the rest of the posts after that saying it was just the advanced weaponizer stuff. I'm willing to bet this guy knew this, but decided to do this just to hype people up and get views.
So all those weapons really were just from the Advanced Weaponizer?
That's really really disappointing, and it's nobody's fault but mine for getting excited.
It's really fucking shitty you can't inspect anything but gun mettle weapons
Edit: What's this about a borneo quest?

Of course the difference being that in TF2 a map has never been removed from the game. If they did remove the 3 community maps from this update once the campaign is done in 3 months I imagine the anger and negativity from the TF2 community would make the anger from the community for the End of the Line update look like nothing.
Hopefully Eric will respond to my email and clarify the status of these maps. I know I would be pretty pissed off if they go back to just being community maps after 3 months.
I hear not a single one of the new crates have dropped. Is this true?

No, a friend of mine already obtained a concealed killer weapon case and got an unusual flamethrower from it. They definately drop.

They must have fixed it quietly. Crates weren't showing up yesterday.
Woah.
I absolutely love the "its Pauling" Voice lines, with all their funnies and references.
Would be better if you can find/buy a "Package" (à la Halloween 2014)

I can't believe I actually called it. Kinda.
how would you get metal though
Crafted twice, got the Sharp Dresser and Black Rose. Should I go to the lottery??
Updated the OP with more news.

Something to consider, as well; While these new maps are in the game, the custom assets from Borneo, Suijin and Snowplow aren't actually in the game proper. Which is a shame, as in years past adding a custom map with an extensive amount of custom props such as Suijin, or Mountainlab usually meant them adding the entire asset pack(or nearly all of it) to the game proper.

look at how sniper has trigger discipline while soldier doesnt
Is it just me or does the powerhouse timer get to like 45 minutes? And I thought Dustbowl was bad.
Got a Mercenary Barn Burner Flamethrower.
It is a shame it is well-worn, because it resembles a stock one, if you just glance over it.
