Major Update Speculation XXVI: Much Ado About Nothing

all in all it was a comic.
The Gun Mettle was certainly not worth the increased time to finish the comic series. It wasn't funny, it wasn't interesting, it was just kinda there, it didn't really have a purpose
i didn't say it was any good, just that now we know where their time was going. so many people talk about the valve comic artists like they spend all day sitting around and doing absolutely nothing, when really they were busy putting time and effort into... an admittedly pretty bland promo comic.

I don't know, I kinda liked the bit about the twin force a natures. Besides, I doubt this was the only promo comic they've been working on.
Hey, I got an idea regarding Source 2 and out lovely TF2.
Let's set up a Kickstarter for Your lovely TF2 team and accumulate some funds to actually make them at least think about it. Or do some other action. Just to make it loud enough. Maybe we should try openly talk with employee who's working on TF2? Some AMA, Q&A?
:plsunderstand: there's a 0.5% chance TF2 Classic could get ported to S2 if/when an SDK arrives :v:
1.) S2 cannot load or mount data from S1 games. There's also no batch conversion stuff publicly released, so I hope you like manually converting 10+gb of data that nobody will want to download from some rickety-ass mod site hosting.
2.) Porting mod code between different builds of S1 is hell enough, from what I understand.
3.) S2 will not bring your cat back to life or make people want to sleep with you.
They could at least get another artist to work on other comics while Makani focuses on finishing up the TF2 comic series.
Maybe the comic development is more intricate because Jay Pinkerton was helping out in a comic's development more than just being a writer, so it's a small collaboration that requires deadlines to be met.
Get Heartsman to do another comic please.
Get Heartsman to do another comic please.
Heartsman's comic wasn't bad, but it's not exactly his strong suit.
If anyone should return to do comics, they should bring back the original comic artist and tell them that Scout isn't ginger.
I didn't like Heartsman's art style. It's not fit for a comic. Some characters seem disproportionate (not Liefeld's level of bad) and the faces are a bit off.
Well I liked the way he drew Saxton's face.

And the Dota comics as well. I mean, since the last part of the TF Comic, there's been a Dota comic about Oracle, a comic for the Steam Winter Sale, a Dota comic about Winter Wyvern, a Dota comic about Enigma, there's also a comic due to come out for Axe and his new cosmetic-item exclusive for the Compendium.
vvv - Yeah, I think the Enigma comic was by the same guy who did the "Are We Heroes Yet?" comic, who does really fucking cool art, I need to look into more of what he does.
Personally, I'll never forgive Valve for working on a Midnight Riders comic and never actually finishing it. :disappoint:
Last couple of posts guys. MAKE THEM COUNT

Talk about ironic.

It's worse than that. The comic is done, they just haven't bothered to release it.
Yes, I love the Crystal Maiden comic and Phantom Assassin comic too, but they got another artist (Jim Murray) for the Enigma comic.
I guess the art style has to best fit with the theme of the comic.
Valve keeps getting Makani because of her cartoonish style while the most serious comics are left to those who could do more details on the characters. Personally they need to find another community artist (or a contractor) who could best represent other Valve works.
had no idea there was an enigma comic.
damn, dota 2 characters and lore are pure gold. i love them.

TF2C is already about that big, source 2 or not.
And the Dota comics as well. He also painted some of the earlier TF2 comic covers, like A Fate Worse Than Chess and the Bombonomicon comic.
Rennerei's another artist on the Valve Comics rolodex. She painted most of the covers in the ongoing TF Comics series, drew Grave Matters and Catch Up and seems to be the colorist now.
I know usaokay mentioned Jim, but I needed to impress upon you how rad and cool he seems to be. Dude's been goddamned everywhere from 2000AD to Blizzard...
TF2C is already about that big, source 2 or not.
I haven't checked on TF2C in a while, but I'm guessing/hoping that most of that is pulled from the TF2 VPKs.

You're joking about that but TF2 is running like if it was coded in Java.
i can probably guess that this skull shows up if you pick up another player's gun that has a stat clock, but i'm not sure from what i've seen. i only picked up a stat clock minigun and it was super small on my screen and is unclear in the screenshot i took. would anyone care to help me test this theory?
If the counters tick over in realtime during a match or whatever then the skull could just flash with each tick.
You're joking about that but TF2 is running like if it was coded in Java.
Mind you Java was originally Sun's fault, but then One Rich Asshole Called Larry Ellison declared it as his trophy prize.
But that statement is definitely true, especially in comparison to the version of Source Portal 2, Dota 2, and CS:GO use.
I've gotten the OP and thread title for a new thread all written up and ready to go, so as soon as this locks I'll be posting it.
What's the title?
The Day MUS Stood Still, probably going to end up relevant in the next few months.
Goodbye thread you were pretty cool
We're nearing the EOTL for this thread. Hopefully the next Boogaloo will last until Smissmas. I'm so glad fot the Gold Rush of new items. I hope Classless items will come here to improve, because you guys work on improvement and design like a well oiled Mecha Machine. Hopefully we can Replay this again.
