decoy watch was a mechanic that was never implemented for the spy. its was akin to the deadringer, except it would project an ilusion of the spy walking in a direction while you remained invisible, rather than droping a fake corpse. there was a video that somehow showed this in action, but t was utterly poor(the mechanic itself) in terms of actually decieving others since the decoy would simply run in a straight line.

the speed boost pad is purely speculation, one of the posibilities to replace teleporters. the other one would be the launchpad. afaik, neither are present in the game in any way

Boy even when we get tangible evidence that something is happening, someone has to shit on it and go "DAE tf2 updates suck". This thread has gone from healthy cynicism to downright toxicity and hostility towards any news at all.

I want more of a UI update, like Dota's. TF2's menu and UI in general is so goddamn dated, with how sounds will repeat when opening a new menu, things being tacked on with no thought, and whatnot. I've found plenty of nice custom HUDS but those don't work on Valve servers, have to be constantly maintained by the creator (usually one guy doing it for free), and don't have access to everything possible. TF2 needs to be modernized.

Custom HUDS work on valve servers.

It's only skins that don't.

Unless your doing something wrong, custom HUDS should work on sv_pure servers, at least mine does.

Well, I guess it's been a while since I've tried. I think they used to crash your game if you disconnected. My point still stands, the default UI sucks a fat one.

I'd like that as well. I can only imagine the blog post:

"TF2 is getting ported to a better engine, so you know what this means, right? You can wear more hats! Introducing not only a 4th, but a 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th misc slot! Wear so many hats that you give your mercs spinal injuries! Be able to wear your hat along with pants!"

What do you figure cultivated such astringent criticism? Why do you think there's so much antipathy toward Valve? Maybe Valve should ask themselves these questions, as they claim to be in touch with their consumers.

People are still passionate about this game and nothing has supplanted it. It's not their life, but it is their hobby. Just try to understand.

Last year, the first worthwhile update/content patch was in February

We still haven't gotten one this year

I honestly would've wanted Valve to pull the plug on the game (content-wise) if I knew how impoverished the updates would be for the past two years.

Then I could probably stop resenting Dota and CS and enjoy TF2 for what it is and was.

It's just... even if it wasn't about a content drought, it's just, they're not doing anything. [I]Anything[/I], I don't care if it takes a long time for content, they're just not fixing some bugs, any bugs that actually really matter.

The game also runs like [I]shit[/I] and they're not fixing it, I don't have a fantastic laptop, but even now I've watched performance decline to a point where I just don't care. It's one of the reasons I stopped (Outside of all my favourite servers dying).
