Not too fond of the final point on that map, can't really narrow down why.

Because it's stupidly easy to defend with sentries.

The map itself is already present on the maps workshop. However, my suspicion is that it's because they have yet to get revenue set-up for the in-beta maps workshop and instead are going to deal with potential revenue split (in the case of map stamps, that'd be a 100% split to the creators) through the base workshop until that functionality works properly.

Why would Valve ask this guy to upload his map to the cosmetics workshop? That does not seem rational...

Payment I assume. Map workshop may not have it all set up yet.

I think it has to do with the fact that BLU are forced to push down an incline into the final stretch in a giant hall where RED have all the high ground advantage surrounding the last cap. Sure, there's two paths left and right of the main track route to try and flank the defense, but the last cap does seem to be a pain for offense on a pub.
Certainly not the only final cap on a PL map to be very difficult, though, and it's otherwise a really cool map with lots of options.
Has a heavy toll on framerate, though. Recently got a new PC that can handle TF2 just fine, but I do remember getting ~15-20 less fps than on most official maps when things got hectic and there was 20+ players in the server.

Its better than shit like gold rush and hoodoo, but I think it needs some reworks on a few points, it heavily favors defense, imagine pushing through barnblitz last point, and then pushing through barnblitz last point 2 more times
Here's a cached link of that page.

I like Borneo quite a bit so I would really like to see it go official.

stats?
Borneo's sudden appearance (then disappearance) on the cosmetic workshop has me thinking it has something to do with the jungle-themed community update in the works (the one mentioned in MYM) for whatever reason. But that's just my two cents.

Remind me when a jungle update was mentioned? The only community update I remember is the Invasion update.

From MYM's Day 3 page:
Sadoun states that he has another, more-Jungle-themed project, similar to Boogaloo in-mind,
Of course, this most likely means nothing. :v:
-Nevermind, Phishing site-

And this belongs in the TF2 section because...?
-Nevermind, Phishing site-
Was it really a phishing site?
Was it really a phishing site?
Nope, it was just a meme.
Someone copied Valve's website completely, and did a harlem shake music on it, then everything started shaking. But once you click anything it goes back to Valve's website, normal one.
So it's just a joke, really.
EDIT: but now it seems its gone, so i don't know. IT was like that a few days ago though.
EDIT2: It's still a meme website, HL3's on it.
valve.software isnt valve's real site, valvesoftware.com is though, and it isnt a phishing site, at least to my knowledge :v:
also this isnt related, now i know the update drought is very boring and is something that drives one to insanity, but if you want to discuss something else....go do it on/in its own section and not tf2's section

Borneo has been in development for years through and almost certainly doesn't have anything to do with a jungle community update.
My guess is that Borneo is being added (hopefully along with some other community maps) because TF2 fans got pissed when Valve cut Snowplow and they are adding it (and others hopefully) in the next major update to make the fans happy.
Borneo was updated yesterday. Since the map workshop came, whenever you update a hidden entry they become public automaticaly. I'm guessing the authors didn't know that and so stuff turned out as it did.
What are the chances of that there will be something "beta" in the summer update?
Furthermore, what if the whole update itself would be marked as such?
