Bro-est thing you can do with the Vaccinator is follow a Medic using the default medigun around and keep an eye on them. Keep them alive so they can build up an uber in peace; it really helps when a Sniper keeps shutting your ubers down. Both the Quick-Fix and Vaccinator work really well as support to the stock medigun and Kritzkrieg. Quick-Fix takes some of the pressure of healing everyone off the other Medic so they don't have to run out onto the front lines, Vaccinator keeps them safe on the front lines.
And not once in that time did they update the panic attack (or any of the Christmas update weapons) to make it not the worst non melee in the game.
I still don't understand the Panic Attack's purpose, like I get what it's for but it just... doesn't do its job?
I still don't understand the Panic Attack's purpose, like I get what it's for but it just... doesn't do its job?
I think Valve got it in their head that it would be overpowered if it just got better as you lost health. Even if it was good at its job, it would be pretty trash. Guns, unlike melee, need to be reliable, you can't have them being useless unless you're at low health. I think the best thing to do for it would be to totally rework it but keep the Beggar's Bazooka charged shot gimmick; making it a normal shotgun with faster reload, a smaller clip, and the ability to load your entire clip into one shot. Anything other than its current state, really.
It would be a better weapon if all you could do was smack people over the head with it
It would be a better weapon if all you could do was smack people over the head with it
An empty secondary slot would be more useful than panic attack.
I still don't understand the Panic Attack's purpose.
Being an easy-kill machine in x10 when you have a medic.
I feel optimistic. I think they'll release a really big update. That's why there's lack of updates for past 6 months.
I feel optimistic. I think they'll release a really big update. That's why there's lack of updates for past 6 months.
The Demo-Soldier War! update itself was pretty awesome. The thought of having another one but featuring the Spy and Engi keeps me optimistic.
I still don't understand the Panic Attack's purpose, like I get what it's for but it just... doesn't do its job?
I absolutely cannot stand how nearly everything about this weapon is self-defeating. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost completely certain the Panic Attack, at full health, does not fire any faster than if you had the stock shotgun and held down M1. So this means that there's absolutely no benefit to the Panic Attack at full health except for the faster reload speed, which is almost unnoticeable. Then, as your health lowers, you gain a faster firing speed (which it should've had from the beginning). But then you get increased spread, which means you need to get closer, which is tough because you have less health. And since the spread changes with health, it's going to have a changing and unpredictable firerate, in addition to a changing and unpredictable spread, which means you're going to miss most of your shots. So this translates to a weapon that at full health, has marginally faster reload speed, and a massive downside that clashes with the type of weapon it is (ie secondary weapon), then as your health decreases, you gain a benefit, but also a downside that forces you to play riskier, which is difficult because you're already at lower health. Let's not even get into the fact that having to preload a weapon in a slot that's regulated almost entirely to emergency situations (ex. out of rockets in your clip, need ranged burst damage as a Pyro, etc) is incredibly detrimental.
If they made it so you could load the shotgun, put it away, then pull it out and have it instantly fire all 4 shots, without the spread decrease, it'd probably fill the niche the gun is supposed to fill, emergency situations
Yeah they are always working on stuff. We actually know a lot more of what they are working on right now then we usually do. As I posted a few pages ago: Spy vs Engie (probably new weapons for both classes) Competitive Matchmaking Mannpower moving out of beta Final versions of Cactus Canyon and Asteroid New Valve made map shown in Meet Your Makers PL_Borneo most likely going official Of course it's possible we wont get all of that in the next major update but we will probably get at least some of it.
Well i'm kinda pessimistic excited for all of these because i don't want my hopes go down when it goes Bleagh
it amazes me how both the panic attack and the iron bomber have downsides that completely negate their only upside, and then have more downsides added on top of that just for good measure i wonder if they were designed by the same person

Both the Iron Bomber and Back Scatter are downgrades that if used correctly, (getting that crit on the back or landing that Iron Bomber hit) just do the regular damage

For example, it's very good with the demoknight, because you can use it to do easily pill-jumps, obviously not having the stickylauncher, and because pills don't "bounce" you can make like mini "sticky" traps with it. The panic attack... is shit, I'm sorry, I can't find a good use for it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/7C4bj5k.jpg[/t] who's ready for an august release
God i really hope he is just trying to troll us.
100% sure he's totally serious remember makani's planning board that hinted at a may/june release... hah
[t]http://i.imgur.com/7C4bj5k.jpg[/t] who's ready for an august release
This genuinely irritates me.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/7C4bj5k.jpg[/t] who's ready for an august release
Who the fuck just uses the term "Enh" when talking to disgruntled fans. Now they're not even pretending they give a shit. Guess we'll be pushing the 1 year mark at this rate.
There isn't one thing in there that doesn't irritate me on an immense scale. Let's list them: "Enh, probably within a month or two." 1. Why should it take a month (or TWO? REALLY?) after the aforementioned MAY/JUNE release? "We JUST got started back on it after a lengthy time..." 2. A lengthy time? Let me tell you about lengthy times. "on other Valve stuff" 3. Oh you mean stuff that probably isn't TF2 and that Valve gives a damn about in the slightest possible sense. Glad to know the people given the task of putting out a comic that has already been delayed multiple times are off doing other valve ventures and are JUST getting back to it when they know full well that it's already been pushed back more than is even remotely acceptable. This is unwelcome news. Oh and I swear to God when and IF the comic finally rolls it's fat slow self onto the blog page, Valve makes a cute little joke like "well heh heh, how bout that bi-yearly comic hey kids, Whahaha-hey, we're wacky and we won't acknowledge in a serious, sincere manner the absurdity of this delay but will shove the same fucking 'stuff is late' joke that hasn't been funny since 2009 into your face to try to compensate for the fact that this is pure fucking laziness." I will blow my lid sky high
[t]http://i.imgur.com/7C4bj5k.jpg[/t] who's ready for an august release
Just reading this hurts. It's proof that they just don't care about deadlines anymore.
Bet it's the same person behind the Backscatter too. Both the Iron Bomber and Back Scatter are downgrades that if used correctly, (getting that crit on the back or landing that Iron Bomber hit) just do the regular damage
Back Scatter can one shot light classes from behind. It's still not very good but that's a meaningful niche at least
[t]http://i.imgur.com/7C4bj5k.jpg[/t] who's ready for an august release
Honestly August is probably being optimistic, I'm sure something else will delay the comic. It's a good thing that we got a such a great major update this summer to keep us occup....oh.
Now I can't wait for Overwatch to trash Valve's happy place. That'll make for some healthy competition winkwinknudgenudge
Think they'll use the TF2 mercs should they make a sequel? Honestly, letting these characters die slowly from inaction is a sin to me
[t]http://i.imgur.com/7C4bj5k.jpg[/t] who's ready for an august release
This guy just promised us "its coming you guys" with that teaser picture and now hes saying with a shrug "whatever it comes in a month or two". I give up :downs:
I love how you guys are horribly overreacting and acting like whiny babies. All they said was that the team behind the comics was pretty much assigned to another project and were just put back on the comics. But due to the way comics get made they don't really have a good estimate. Seriously, the comic is later than valve said it would be. It's not a big surprise. And if the team just got back on it that means a lot of drawing and redrawing of panels and coloring and such, it's NOT a quick process.
