Major Update Speculation XXVI: Much Ado About Nothing

Jesus, I get out for 3 days and all of this happens, what went wrong?
dope pope went wrong yet again.
TF2 is a great game to build patiente I think. We learn to wait and wait. Heck, bureaucracy seems faster than our updates release
I think I have enough patience. I'm waiting now more than 3 years for a deadringer cloak meter / hydro bug fix. I can wait.
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
...Eh.... so Updates... not getting any lately, huh?
i hope they come out with something good soon...? i guess be optimistic for now.
Oh, Major Update Speculation. How the mighty have fallen...
I'm really hoping something worthwhile comes of Spy Vs Engie to pull us out of this stupor.
Guys I think he may be glad he quit this game when he did.
Guys I think he may be glad he quit this game when he did.
waiting game too strong i say.
In Moments like this I always try to remember the time we actually get a major update and MUS pulls itself together and works like a team to find other secret stuff added or just exploring the update.
It's not always like this, remember that.
Now is sad to read this thread.
We are eating each other.
Things are gonna happen, for sure. We'll probably see some form of an update(whether that's ingame or a comic) before October.
Reading through all the older posts, and I know you guys will get angry for me saying this but, remember that Team Fortress 2 is now over 7 years old, you guys just can't expect Valve to put deadlines for free updates of which they don't even make that much from anymore, remember that Valve don't have to give you updates, they could simply just go. "We are done with TF2 Now" and probably will in the upcoming future since TF2 is not as important, its pretty much a finished game.
So be patient with their updates, there is always going to be delays with a 4 person team working on the project, and remember that TF2 is now an infinitely small blip as they are just about to push their new Engine, its not just TF2 receiving lack of updates, its also CSGO and Dota 2 too.
For me it's not that they won't update it's that they don't communicate anything at all. Some people say it's because they don't want to disappoint the players if content gets cut before release but that doesn't matter. I would rather blog posts saying "we cut a and b because of reasons x, y and z" than being told months (maybe over a year I'm on a phone so i can't check) after a comic deadline that they JUST started working on it. It's shit business practice and shows that valve doesn't give 2 shits about one of their most iconic games nor it's extremely dedicated community.
[editline]21st June 2015[/editline]
I'm home now so i'd like to add an additional point to anyone that might think me overreacting. This might sound sad/weird but Valve has been the go-to game company for me my entire life. This is because when Half-Life first came out my older brother bought it on steam (hell this was before steam community was even a thing) and I was about 2 or 3 years old (1998). I used to watch him play it all the time, used my allowance to buy a PlayStation 2 copy and later an Xbox copy of Half-Life 2 when that released. Ever since then i've bought every one of valve's games even if it didn't appeal to me (looking at you TFC) simply because Valve was an amazing company and I wanted to support them. Now that i'm an adult with a job and money to spend it irritates the fuck out of me that valve is becoming worse and worse to the point where I don't even want to buy keys even though as a kid playing TF2 it's something i've always looked forward to being able to do.
Thought I should mention, since I have yet to see anyone else do so...
There is a tiny reference to a TF2 Drone in the the Steam Summer Sale Monster Game.
If you keep leveling up an ability till it reaches level 10, it will unlock the next tier. I forget all the names, but for the auto-clicker it has something like:
Farming Equipment
AFK Manager
Lvl 1 Sentry gun
Lvl 2 Sentry gun
Lvl 3 Sentry gun
Lvl 1 Combat Drone
I have yet to see beyond these (a man must sleep), but I'd guess that maybe it stops at Lvl 3 Drone.

yeah it's Real Bad
I wonder which needs to be put out of its misery more; Team Fortress 2 or this thread. Even with Spy Vs Engie, Asteroid, Mannpower, etc down the pipeline, the TF2 team is dragging their feet at a cantankerous pace which kills any hype alongside the comic which at this point may as well be borderline yearly. Outside of rare and obscure leaks or beta testing, we don't have teasers like we did with Meet the Pyro/MvM anymore that warrant long term discussion. Everything more or less just gets thrown at us nowadays, so there's hardly anything to speculate on - we just get pleasantly surprised if we get a good update out of nowhere.
It feels like people act like they have some obligation to keep this thread relevant during slow news days - which nowadays, is basically anything outside of late Summer/Halloween/Christmas.
I don't know, I get a good chuckle reading this thread sometimes. If anything it makes the wait for a reasonable update less unbearable to me but this drought is still bad.
I wish people would just post this kind of stuff in the General chat, it's dead all the time :c
I think we should just purge Major Update Speculation and just talk about everything in General Chat

Coming from someone who discovered Facepunch and signed up exclusively because of this thread who doesn't use TF2 GC, I actually agree at this point. The camaraderie of speculation from before is long gone. As I was saying, we just get updates spontaneously given to us nowadays.
People try to keep this thread relevant with well meaning intentions to keep the sense of community afloat, but it just attracts rampant shitposting like what we got earlier.
We can always use the update threads Wickedplayer makes to talk about a specific update, but otherwise I think this thread should be ripped up along with the shit in it, and thrown into a fire. Its ashes will be reborn into a newer, better General Chat.
First goes MUS, next General chat, afterwards the whole TF2 section
:tinfoil:
MUS should only get posts when theres new info or an update is happening
Otherwise this is just a shitty general chat thread where people complain about Valve 24x7

I would normally agree, but people always feel obligated to keep this thread relevant. No matter how much we ask, someone will inevitably bump this thread to discuss something that belongs in General Chat, Weapon Balance discussion, WickedPlayer's update threads, etc.
That, and as people said earlier, we can just use WickedPlayer's threads to discuss updates as they hit. We really have little to speculate on beforehand. The TF2 team does as they please and don't communicate to us prior to updates anymore, we can just use other threads to discuss updates live as they happen.

When you put it that way I do agree this thread needs to be deleted

Not deleted, just forgotten or locked until something is happening again.

what mod is going to want to keep track of that?

I would hope the people of the TF2 section have enough self-control to just not post here for now.
I hope.
