As much as I love valve and this game, I seriously never expect any sort of tf2 news nowadays
I still enjoy updates when they come out, but I've stopped setting expectations for future content - even including small and/or expected things like the comic, Halloween updates, etc. That's not to say I think TF2 is dead, but it's definitely stagnating more than usual.
The point I'll start to get worried is if we get to Thursday without a blog post.
You bet your ass we'll get to Thursday without a blog post. I predict a minor bugfix update at most next week.
The day Valve patches comp matchmaking in is the day I stop caring about content updates I couldn't care less about another 3 weapons that nobody is going to use a week after the update
The day Valve patches comp matchmaking in is the day I stop caring about content updates I couldn't care less about another 3 weapons that nobody is going to use a week after the update
Depends on the weapon. Look at mecha update, 2/3 of the weapons are used constantly. We just got shit weapons last smissmas.
every other "major" update in the past year, they had to fix bumper cars and game breaking exploits on halloween, and in Love and War they thought of the dumbest most un necessary class nerfs some of which still havent been fixed dont forget to mention the various, taunt into enemy spawn issues and back scatter not getting a craft recipe until a few days later
half assed update implies something that was thrown together and relased for the sake of, for example: smissmass 2014. the two updates you mentioned had a share of bugs and glitches, but nothing any other update ever had. 0/10.

It's more niche than the other mediguns, but it's still pretty effective and I'd argue the most fun to use out of the four.
Pyromania marked the beginning of the end for the golden age of TF2, with the onset of the dark times forthcoming.
Not Really. MVM was just a few months later, and then it got major updates like Two Cities and Mecha. Not to mention Love and War, which I found to be a very nice update for the game.

It had its bugs and glitches but nothing any other update ever had. All of you saying it was in reaction to EOTL I think have just gotten to the point where you think they did to give yourself some false implication that valve cares enough to do anything above the bare minimum.

Not to mention Love and War, which I found to be a very nice update for the game.
The beginning of the end. And to be perfectly candid, that's being generous for me; the last major update that truly thrilled me was the Uber Update. Pyromania completely killed my enthusiasm with its ineptly applied Tomislav balancing--likewise with Love & War's Heavy nerf.
We are so desperate for an update right now that, on reddit; we are roleplaying the day that the pyromania update came out... https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/
I hear there's a robot update in the works. I'm so hyped, being a robot would be so cool!
two cities soon
Nah, an update will happen this upcoming week because I'm starting my new job thus halving my free time.
TF2 is not a bad game at the moment. Has it's flaws, but overall a nice package. I think I could still play a few years without updates.
two cities soon
this is why i dont post
this is why i dont post
Don't listen to people like that, reasonable people understand that you can't get everything 100% right and most of us are happy to see you post new information.

[sp]some of us are, at least[/sp] [editline]28th June 2015[/editline] but to be honest, i think we're dying everytime there is an update only to be reborn for another round of 5 stages madness. this is a vicious cycle of MUS
Not saying there won't be any updates. Obviously there's Spy vs Engie and matchmaking. Just saying I wouldn't mind if they were to stop.
Not saying there won't be any updates. Obviously there's Spy vs Engie and matchmaking. Just saying I wouldn't mind if they were to stop.
Even if we weren't to receive new content, the game still requires major balance overhauls.
I would overwhelmingly prefer proper rebalancing and bug fixing to new content
Throw me an update that isn't based on random beta crap i'd be happy. beta maps, beta workshop, beta gamemode, for gods sake the game is 8 years old how about you fix some broken content or add something new for once in 6 months
I've got mixed feelings when it comes to what Valve should be focusing on, Defiantly no more new weapons for now, unless its on the same lines as the base jumper in that it adds a new gameplay element to a existing class. The three weapons we got this last Christmas, have very little benefits for the downsides they have and feel like existing weapons with their stats jumbled around. I'd rather they focused on making the existing weapons work and properly balanced before trying anything in that regard. But still, what would get me excited to play the game regularly again would be new content. Which is to say new maps, game modes and ways to play the game. I don't mind having everything in beta to start off with as long as there is actually content being worked on, plus the beta stuff being finished rather than stuck in half art-passed limbo which is what rd_asteroid is at the moment. I was genuinely excited for that map when it was being regularly updated and art passed.
TF2 is not a bad game at the moment. Has it's flaws, but overall a nice package. I think I could still play a few years without updates.
its like a cupcake with dirt poured on top, and whenever someone asks valve to stop pouring dirt on it they misunderstand and poor pencil shavings on instead thinking it solved the problem.
its like a cupcake with dirt poured on top, and whenever someone asks valve to stop pouring dirt on it they misunderstand and poor pencil shavings on instead thinking it solved the problem.
ew nobody especially wants to eat a cupcake with dirt and pencil shavings poured all over it
ew nobody especially wants to eat a cupcake with dirt and pencil shavings poured all over it
But damn if I don't keep coming back.
ew nobody especially wants to eat a cupcake with dirt and pencil shavings poured all over it
some people dont want to play a tf2 with random crits and broken weapons. Clearly the ones here are the either ignorant or love the core of tf2 enough to ignore or overlook the flaws. The issue is over the years the flaws have amassed and its gotten to the point where some just cant pretend there not issues anymore
rent your own server, disable crits and spread. enjoy
rent your own server, disable crits and spread. enjoy
That costs money. Also, the First Rule of TF2 Servers: If your server is good, no one will play on it.
That costs money. Also, the First Rule of TF2 Servers: If your server is good, no one will play on it.
Add the !rtd plugin. There, problem solved.
but then it stops being good
