Hey cool weapon skins for doing things that's coo- $5.99
there's a sony 2006 $599 Us Dollars joke in there somewhere
So, how long until one of our many amazing and competent texture artists takes it onto themselves, that instead of just removing all of the skins they instead re-do them and make them look good? Because i really feel like if these skins were done right, this system could be really nice.
Jesus the TF2 community complains about everything
If Valve that managed to please everyone at once, it would be one dull update.
Repost from the blog thread: Okay, since everyone is complaining about Vacc being "nerfed" I'll give a situation where the changes to Vacc are actually a serious gift. You're a medic. You're running the new Vaccinator, and you've got all 4 bars of Uber. It's time for the push. You can give FOUR PEOPLE 75% BULLET RESISTANCE AT THE SAME TIME TO CHARGE LIKE 3 SENTRIES AND FUCK THAT SHIT UP. "These bubbles do not disappear if the medic stops targeting the current patient. Multiple bubbles of different types can be applied to the same patient or multiple patients given the same resist uber each consuming 1 charge." If you're fast, you can apply bullet and explosive resistance to 2 people and destroy the sentry with even greater effect. Do this with a Quick-Fix medic and basically everything is fucked.
Yeah, but they downplayed all of the Vaccinator's other advantages when, even with bullshit crit resistance, constantly charging at its maximum rate and 25% of damage resisted returned to the Medic as self-healing it was still worse than the other 3 mediguns in almost every situation. Ugh, I'm grateful for so many of these good weapon changes, but when they nerf your favourite weapon in a lot of ways, even though it was the worst choice, it still feels like a 'bad' update.

You'd be able to do it a lot more efficiently with a single target ubered while other teammates shoot the sentry from behind them. Plus they'd be invincible to all types damage, when does an important sentry not have teammates around it?
Is there a release date?
Is there a release date?
Tomorrow.
500th update Matchmaking/ Hats & Weapons?
They shouldn't have added the new weapon skins IMO. They could've added the new maps, taunts and weapon changes in conjunction with something descent, like Competitive matchmaking
The game is F2P. Any major update update is going to have some way for Valve to make money off of it.
Tomorrow.
It's today the update.
The game is F2P. Any major update update is going to have some way for Valve to make money off of it.
They could have added more hats/misc slot expander(4 maximum hats/misc) or something
Not enough information out there, for all we know it could be physics based just like the old weapons.
I imagine it's just like the candy cane. But it would be cool if they weren't floating. Also my (speculative) ETA for the patch is about ~10 hours from now
A sentry never targets more than one person. You'd be able to do it a lot more efficiently with a single target ubered while other teammates shoot the sentry from behind them. Being able to give a random person fighting a soldier 75% explosive resistance and someone fighting a pyro 75% fire resistance at the same time just keeps everyone alive, you know
As an avid engineer main I'm crying about the "Wrangled sentry repair rate reduced" nerf. It's going to be such a pain :/ But... There is still hope. Who am I lying to though. Nothing will happen C: Feel free to bet on whether I'll get a response, and what the outcome will be. Agree - positive response (I wrote a long fkn email explaining why 66% reduction in repair rate when wrangled is too much) Disagree - negative response. Late - no response at all. We all know which rating will be the one used the most here, haha.
Okay now we will wait for the Asiimov scatter gun skin, and a de_2fort.
Okay now we will wait for the Asiimov scatter gun skin, and a de_2fort.
I was thinking about making an AWP_2fort for CS:GO.
what if there are multiple sentries what if the sentry is in a place like dustbowl second last where you really don't want to follow the person unless you're sure the person can handle everything down there at once, and often a single uber isn't enough I'm not talking about using this for competitive, where people are organized, I'm talking about its usage in pubs where nobody is organized and people just sort of work on their own. The problem with the Vaccinator was that even with the bonuses, it was worse than any of the other options except in a few really specific situations. Not only that, but it's actually more difficult to use than any other medigun while being worse than them. The Direct Hit rewards being accurate with the potential to do more damage to single targets at the cost of splash damage. The Vaccinator lets you kill single targets more easily at the cost of an actual uber, decreased overheal rate, being attacked by more than one damage type and having to have a lot more awareness than if you were ubering with stock or Quick-Fix. It's ridiculous. Being able to stack ubers on a single target helps with the last two problems, but that uses up half of your ubercharge and takes a lot more effort than just using a stock or Quick-Fix uber while being worse than them.
It says Borneo is alpine themed? It looks like a jungle tough.
new things confuse valve that's all. "b-but it's not on the list..."

Everyone got butthurt about that as well, there's no pleasing some people. It's literally a small mask that's only there for a week, and everyone complained about how GO was dead. While I do miss the old TF2 style, it's been long dead since a lot of the hats were added as well as paints - Gun skins aren't going to change much. Also, going off CSGO, the flashy ugly skins will be expensive as fuck, so the more mellow, rustic weapons will be way more common
So is this spy vs engie or is that still coming?
I'd like to see them expand on the gun skins, if they do then maybe the future ones won't be as ugly. They could get creative and starting making each collection of patterns fit a map or in-game company, or something. Honestly, I'm just happy there's an update and that there's a reason to go back to good ol' TF2. '
So is this spy vs engie or is that still coming?
Judging by the Spy and Engi balances it might be our september update. Maybe even with competitive mode. But yeah, let's not predict dates...
So is this spy vs engie or is that still coming?
spy v engie is still coming as far as we know but then again for all we know this is day 1 of a 2 day update, what with the afterburner in one of the images and the reference to update 500 in another.
It'd be nice if the battle-worn stuff was more common, making most people's guns muted and less jarring.
If CS:GO is anything to go by, the most garish skins are the most popular ones, so don't get your hopes up.
Oh, I know, believe me, I know but recent CS:GO items, in my opinion, have been pretty pleasing to the eye and have all been fitted into a certain theme (such as the Gods and Monsters collection of skins). The Gun Mettle Update is trying to do something similar with the Teufort Collection, and most of those look nice so there's hope for future map-based collections, if the reception is good, of course.
I hope that when we do get community skins (if we do), than we get more along the lines of this: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/685965905553066594/53F4ACF20EBA729A714D6C5183043B14CBFAF7C6/[/t] [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/576777536754963151/3FD9E1E0A1B23ACFD9F75CB3076CA583C67B8607/[/t] and uhh, not really what's going on with those lightning guns. Looking at the CS Workshop doesn't look promising with every 2nd gun skin trying to be the new Asiimov though.
If CS:GO is anything to go by, the most garish skins are the most popular ones, so don't get your hopes up.
why do people like them, i don't get it. unless it's literally just "IT'S REALLY LOUD AND PEOPLE WILL LOOK AT ME AND MY FUTILE EXISTENCE WILL BE VALIDATED AND THEY WILL ALL RELISH IN MY MAGNIFICENCE" and vote it up because they're self aggrandizing narcissists who'll probably never even get the fucking skin
