Because if he gifts somebody a game the money goes to Valve anyway and somebody gets a game that they want. The teddy he receives is also tradable.

Several, more or less logically skewed/purely selfish reasons: I've purchased things before, so they have my support, I'd like the bear to be tradeable w/o gift wrap in case I want to trade it some day down the road, and I've kinda cooled on the idea of supporting the Store ever since I paid money in order to paint my hat one way, only to have them change the paint appearance with no warning. :)

Back on topic, I also have a nv Hound Dog and Whiskered Gentleman painted drab I'd trade for either Sight for Sore Eyes or Teddy Roosebelt.

No offense, but the Big Kill is only worth ~30 dollars, while Portal 2 is $44. You'll have to add unless somebody is generous.
