Robotic Boogaloo icon update will be here in due time, I'm just having a difficult time adjusting to the new system. (The keyword here being "difficult")
V9 will be released tomorrow.

Seems you're still missing the Gear Grinder and Oil Spill MvM badges, and since either this update or the previous one the small version of the War Pig icon has had a bit cut off the top.
It looks like the Zombie Medic and the Tux don't have icons as well. And the top of the Area 451 has the same issue BY posted with the War Pig.
Greetings, I was curious as to what paint program the Shugo team uses? (I know Mr. Shugo used GIMP/Paint.net (which is what I'm currently using.) Reason I'm asking is because removing the background color (lime green) with the color selector isn't working well for me. It always leaves an outline around the model which I've had to remove manually twice now. I'd really like to know your methods on avoiding said outline and I thought maybe it had to do with the version of GIMP I'm using (2.0.)

One of the reasons I need to update Shugo's tutorial is because we no longer use the green method, we now use a "Alpha method".

Thank you sir.
Also, I have no idea how relevant this is for here, but is there any timescale for when the icons in backpacks on TF2B will be updated?

Thank you sir.
I'm unsure about Ceiling Man's workflow, but I pretty much exclusively use three programs: HLMV for model viewing (duh), Notepad++ for VMT editing (adjusting phong and rim lighting, setting mannequin textures, etc.), and Photoshop CS6 for the actual image editing. When it's time to pack up the icons, I batch convert the TGAs to VTF using VTFEdit. Also yes Photoshop costs money. There's a 30 day trial, after that you can either buy it for ~$600 for regular or ~$1000 for Extended or pay monthly for Adobe's weird Creative Cloud thing.

I'll hold off on making anymore of my custom icons until the tutorial is revamped.

I discussed the method above, so take a look there!
Any ETA on a Rome promo icon release?
Any ETA on a Rome promo icon release?
TBA. I got a little sidetracked after getting a job, recently, but I should have them done within the week.
Thought I'd post this The icon for the stocking stuffer looks like this [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/902127097132001667/89FDB762852C05ED41B01EE3D74E4794DE36C0CF/[/t] But the in-game item looks like this [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/902127097132003649/97DBE2867D2E0BD131B9219C730AAA995F2091AF/[/t] [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/902127097132005086/1FB6DFF11701E1844E37DF9710DD34F7B758A940/[/t]

To make it clear, that guy is pointing out the differences in the candy cane. It'd be helpful if that was said. And to follow it up, I noticed that the Virus Doctor doesn't really look like the item ingame. The texture looks like it's covered in yellow/orange, which was fixed a few updates ago.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but would it be possible for someone who knows what they are doing to program something that does at least most of this automatically? Like load it up in hlmv at the right angles, background. bobloblaw...
I wish there was something that did that for paint galleries/paint images i hear the officialwiki has some automated method for it But with icons it's a different kettle of fish. most of the time they require manual tweaking i believe.

There's an automated method for the 3D model things that are on weapon pages, but all there is for paint images is a tutorial. All the rotations and stuff to get good images are stored on a page, though sometimes you have to wait until someone creates the icons for the rotations to be decided on. The only automated bits are saving the images, if you use Photoshop and can get the thing to work, and changing the paint, if you use TFMV.
And another thing, shouldn't the icon for the Builder's Blueprints be red? Its currently blue
I apologize for this delay, everyone, I hurt my arm in a work-related incident. Nothing too bad, I'm better now.
Can't wait to see the next update and please fix what I mentioned above Also, the Idea Tubes color should be red
Probably because they were "blueprints" he made them blue. It makes more sense for the icon but probably doesn't look as nice on a loadout screen as a whole. But I am not stressing it.
