I was thinking of getting one of those customizable badges to go on my solider to fit the whole General theme (Honcho + Dress Uniform) but I am always seeing other peoples customized items as Purple and Black checkers. Anyone know why this is?

You can only use one image with it, so you have edit the four different pictures into one image.
