I think you can select custom textures, or replace the default one.

Replace the default "flair_decal.vtf" with the modified one using VTFedit. Use the template on the front page. Colored circles are the image, white edges are the part where it starts to wrap around.

Open up model viewer and load a class model. Equip the appropriate flair model as a weapon to the class.

Alternatively, use the Decal Tool on the Flair! item.

I think you just replace the default texture (materials/models/player/items/all_class/flair_decal.vtf) with whatever custom one you want, then you "Load Weapon" using the Flair model (models/player/items/all_class/flair_(classname).mdl)
