Those who suggested the drops didn't even post a single thing about it, do it without drops. With is too busy even for a TF2 icon.

Just because something is rare it doesn't mean it has to look bad.
For example, NeoDement made a detailed reflected ball kill icon, but you don't see it often in-game, do you?

I like the drops because it makes struggle and urgency more evident, but only the lightest amount possible to avoid busying it.

But it doesn't look bad to begin with. The water drops helps make it look like the person is splashing and drowning. The ones you placed are just kinda oddly straight looking for water splashes.
