Anyone got an idea how I can sort this problem out? I'll spill the beans because I desperately need help, the part of the model I want transparent are the sunglasses part of my hat, I only want it to be semi-transparent (as sunglasses are) but like I said $alphatest either makes it completely transparent or completely solid, and $translucent causes other parrts of the model to mess up and turn translucent. I ran into this problem before but couldnt't fix it, so I worked around it, anyone got any ideas this time? I'm curious as well because one of the polycount hats for the spy, the Saharan Hat thingy has a pair of sunglasses, they must use transparency when they're added so.....
A long time ago Neo told me that transparency works on the same alpha the reflections do. If you have a hat you don't want reflective, so you changed the alpha, it will be transparent. You have to give up either transparency or light reflection. I don't know which one the hound dog gave up, but it works the same way i think. So if you use a layer mask (GIMP) and make it black, and have $transparency in the vmt, it will be transparent to whatever degree you made it. I suggest about RGB 155 155 155, but maybe all 135's would work better.
Guys i need help with photoshop, i opened the file d_images (killicons) and they are extremly blurry, so blurry i cant even see them.
I still want to make a voice pack for spy to go with this. Can someone tell me how to get sounds out of Killing Floor?
Bump for answer, I'm curious as well. But here's another solution: You can download the soundpack in the video description, it's got a good number of lines to work with. Then it's just a simple job of renaming files from then on out. I edited it into a Pyro soundpack myself, though I don't plan on releasing it because it didn't turn out that great, and the original author might not appreciate it.
Gosh gosh gosh
I have ONE question. Why the fuck didn't you name yourself Aerix on FP? Was it taken? So much better than BFO, and doesn't cut off.
Because Badassfreakinoverlord is my steam name and fpsbanana account because I think I remember Aerix was taken on one or both. I don't know and it doesn't matter at this point.
Why is the toolbox so big?
I originally animated the scene with basic block outs before importing the models. I had to resize stuff so that he wasn't sitting on thin air. Also the dood could not be rescaled.
Why is the engineer so skinny
It was part of the assignment that i use a pre-rigged model that was provided to us. I just dressed it up because he was naked and blue before. Also this was in the description of the video. LOADSA MONEYYYY Anyone know some good pickelhaube mods? I know there's two by Daimao, one that adds an iron cross and another that's a feldmutze.

Someone who'd be willing to create a map somewhat in Warhammer 40k's theme. Or better yet, someone who has already been working on one. No matter if it's small, ctf, cp or at night - it only needs to feel like W40k and be done fast.
Scout should be not Spacemarine, he should be real Scout of spacemarines. Sniper too.
Scout's shoulder pads are too big, it looks awkward on him being the small guy
Drax, and you tried making the glass use a separate .vmt to the rest of the glasses?
Reposting then. This version replaces all those hats instead of just the bill's hat. Why the fuck am I gettin' dumbs? [editline]11:35AM[/editline] Also, I read this thread through from about page 54, that took forever. Damn you Butlins, and your paid-for wifi.
I'd love to see a map that had two giant people and scratches etc., as if they were real miniatures playing on a normal Warhammer 40K board.
That'd be really awesome. and if the people were too hard to do they could always just be two huge silhouettes.
The new Legion of The Damned Pryo and the other classes look awesome, but the space marine scouts look weird.
That'd be really awesome. and if the people were too hard to do they could always just be two huge silhouettes.
You could have two Scouts wearing glasses, only problem would be the texture.

British voices always reminds me of Zombie movies. Probably because of Shaun of the Dead and 28 days later. I hope Left 4 dead 3 will have a British person :3:

Sorry, but I really don't like it when people think the two are the same.

Contrary to what you hope though, I hope they DON'T make their characters too original. I hope that if Valve makes a Left 4 Dead 3, the characters will be just as based on Zombie movie stereotypes as Left 4 Dead 1. I feel that Left 4 Dead 2's characters weren't as lovable as Left 4 Dead 1's characters because they weren't as recognizable. Left 4 Dead 2 had a decent idea for stereotypes: A hick, a reporter, a selfish douche, and an elderly person. However the stereotypes weren't as apparent as in the first game, and they did a terrible job portraying Rochelle as the stereotypical reporter rather than the "Oh no you didn't" black girl.
Drax, and you tried making the glass use a separate .vmt to the rest of the glasses?
I'll try that now but the previous time I tried transparency and done that the same problem occured. @Tylizzle It's different for models in TF2 sadly well the way you go about it is the asme (alpha channel) but the response is different. TF2 doesn't respond well to transparency and if it's applied to a model without the .vmt being seperate it makes other parts of the model weirdly transparent even if they aren't translucent in anyway on the Alpha Channel. @ Zebus If you're referring to phong when you mean reflection, the transparency mask does not use the same alpha as the reflection. Both phong and evnmap reflection can be defined by either the diffuse texture or the bump map texture alpha mask, and considering I'm using a diffuse and normal map I simply stuck the phong on the normal map's alpha, the translucent's alpha automatically defaults to the diffuse and there's no way of changing that.
