Anyway, in oder to trade him you would have to purchase TF2 for 20 dosh, and for 20 dosh you could buy much more than a few weapons. So it would be much of an anti-profit.

Try asking him in chat if he has any of those hats. More often than not, new players believe they have nothing worth trading.

Why stop at Alien Swarm? Load it up with all free games you can find. Sam&Max: Abe Lincoln Must Die per example. You won't be constrained to just the people that don't have Alien Swarm, then. And an account with about three-four games looks better than just Alien Swarm.
