Read that, the link there will direct you to Uberness, who you just add on Steam and ask him for a download link. He require no payment, but APPRECIATE in-game donations for effort. So, be a gentleman!

He got banned for saying that some other guy's program had a virus. He's alright, was really helpful.
can you link to the site?
Link is in the OP. http://jaycee.game-host.org:8000/scams/index.php
can you link to the site?
Why do you need it anyway? Jesse's site only got Nirock's program, which is closed now.
Go back to last page and read about the Uberness program instead :)

Anyone have tips on what servers are good, what to look for, etc.
If the advice someone gives me earns me a scam I will raffle off my second scam, no matter what it is.

Check the players on a server before joining it by right clicking on the name and selecting an option from the drop-down. If it says 23/24, don't trust it, it's probably a lie. Be aware of bot names, if it has something obvious to do with Half-Life or Portal or L4D (like Chell, or D0g, or Hunter), and there are a few of them, don't bother joining, they're almost always bots. Checking the playercount is helpful as well, because spoofed player counts are getting more and more common. If it says there are 23 players, make sure there are around that number and not just four or five.
don't bother joining, they're almost always bots.
Servers with bots are probably your best shot. Make sure there are actually some real people in there, though.
Servers with bots are probably your best shot. Make sure there are actually some real people in there, though.
Well, what I mean is, I've joined servers that are literally ALL BOTS, so try and evaluate how much it'd be worth it to waste time joining before you do so.
Any tips on how to ask them about the hats? on offering or anything.
Any tips on how to ask them about the hats? on offering or anything.
I normally ask what they would want for them. If they say they don't know, link your backpack and tell them to see if there's anything they want.
Quite a lot of people know that weapons aren't worth as much as hats, so you might put people off by offering weapons straight away.
i think you should avoid linking your backpack, surely it would put them off having to do more and then they'd probably pick something more valuable? i just ask what they prefer and put in the trade what i can offer.

Works for me. Don't recall anyone ever saying that they don't want to look at it.
If you don't want to try that, ask what kind of stuff they'd be looking for. Say you've got a load of stuff, ask them to name a few things.
i generally ask what their favourite class is and if they're missing any weapons for that class, i usually have an idea on what to trade them by checking the backpack for missing stuff though.
Any tips on how to ask them about the hats? on offering or anything.
Don't say "Would you trade your X", that's a bad move because it lets them know that SOMEHOW, you know they have it already. Say something along the lines of "Do you have X for trade? I'm looking for one," or "I'm trying to start a collection," or something along those lines, even though you already know they have it. That way you come off as friendly.
[editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
Alright, I have another legitimate tip. When the person puts up the X or Y you're looking for, never under any circumstances say it is a promotional item and that they cannot get another one. This will almost instantly turn them off from the trade.
Some fucking kid took a Bill's Hat scam right infront of my nose D;
