Oh yeah, to the people using this go ahead and add it to other Orange Box games and Garry's mod. Some of it works, I think. Just make sure to remove "cl_new_impact_effects" and "cl_burninggibs." They add giblets on fire to players gibbed on fire and particle effects for bullet impacts but only in Team Fortress 2, they crash other games. And to Niven, check to see you're in cfg where the other files like soldier.cfg and sniper.cfg are then make sure your file isn't named wrong like "autoexec.cfg.txt."
No, it's in the right folder and named autoexec.cfg
I can't find this "autoexeg.cfg" in my cfg folder, amidoinitrite?
I can't find this "autoexeg.cfg" in my cfg folder, amidoinitrite?
You have to make it yourself.
Maybe you need glasses or somethin', Niven. And make the file if it doesn't exist.
I can't get it to say ".cgf" it only comes up as ".cfg.txt :byodood: EDIT:  I got it to work, nevermind
just wondering is there any way to use mp_usehwmmodels 1 without losing my custom models?

Too bad that Valve had broken mat_picmip command...
I have an issue, I'm using mp_usehwmmodels and mp_usehwmvcds, but engie and demo don't have teeth.

I know this thread says Highest Settings Possible but the difference you'll only notice from setting every setting on high is turning on mp_usehwmmodels and mp_usehwmvcds. All of the other settings will most likely cause worse performance with almost no visible gain in quality.
Too bad that Valve had broken mat_picmip command...
For the last time: the command was never broken. The value of it was changed. They increased the lowest possible value from -10 to -1.
...more or less breaking it for our intents and purposes :frown:
For the last time: the command was never broken. The value of it was changed. They increased the lowest possible value from -10 to -1.
-1 is just "Very High" settings.
I blame Valve porting TF2 to Mac:gbsmith:
So do you blame everything on macs now? They said they did it because they were worried that people with bad systems would be using the command thinking it would increase performance or something
What would be the system requirements for the highest settings possible?
What would be the system requirements for the highest settings possible?
I have 9800 GT/Intel quad @ 2.67 Ghz/Vista/3 GB RAM and it never goes below 30 fps.
