Unless they implemented some kind of system which lets you rig/compile it instead of them, that wont happen.

Actually, pretty much ALL of Valve's hats are well over the 800-poly limit. re: MendozaMan, a 3000 polygon hat takes up a whopping 250kb... you'd need 20,000 hats to take up 5gb.
Why do people think this is a contest? It's a long term thing guys.

I understand their reasoning.[/QUOTE] I do ofcourse, so when they use the rule to decline a model that has 2,000 additional polys but is perfectly fine in every other aspect, I'll confront them with it. Not likely to happen though, if a hat gets declined it's probably because of the style.

I like the contribute thingy valve made, but i feel its been focused mostly on people who will do all the work for them aka make the model and all that. I don't quite have the ability to do that at this time, but i feel like i have a winner of an idea for this. He didn't, he's just being hopeful. I submitted an optimised and an unoptimised version of the Patriotic Patroller, I'm hoping they go with the unoptimised one because the inside looks nicer.
