Add more or keep it as it is?
Mind if I ask what the fuck that is?
Now that we're done with the Dragon Whelp Hat for the Pyro, here's what my team and I are working on next.
[img_thumb]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/Ragnarokdragon/pyro_dragonflamethrower.jpg[/img_thumb]
Right now we're unsure if "Firespitter" is its final name. We also wanted this to be its own original flamethrower, not a replacement. We've been juggling around a few abilities it should use, but it's really up to Valve anyways on what abilities it should have. We originally wanted the idea that the Firespitter ignites projectiles with its airblast and the splash damage from the projectile will ignite nearby enemies.
Your suggestions for a new name or abilities are welcome. :)
I believe that the flamethrower's versatility should be exclusive to the flamethrower, and the unlocks should remain specialty alternatives.
As a secondary, the ability to coat anything in airblast range in oil slick is a great idea, whoever thought of it.
Anyone hit with the oil slick will be minicritted by fire attacks, and afterburn.
Pyros hit with the oil slick can be ignited for half damage afterburn.
Can be fired at the ground and ignited later for an escape route, trap, or for area denial.
Can be ignited by enemies as well, so beware of enemy flares screwing up your plans.
Which team it damages depends on who ignites the slick.
Can be airblasted off teammates.
Takes 50 ammo per slick.
The disadvantage is decreased afterburn when un-covered in oil.
Half duration, normal damage.
- Would encourage flare gun usage.
- W+M1ers would have to learn a bit of strategy, and ammo management, and their afterburn wouldn't do the work for them.

2x4 Wooden plank, WITH NAILS.
Making it into a bat replacement (sandman for now).

I endorse anything related to propane except for the fact that it is a gas when not pressured.

Aren't you going to have to make new animations for it then? It would look awkward swinging a plank one handed.

That is up to valve. :v:
Also it looks awkward swinging a "baseball bat" with on hand, even though the bats more like a rounders bat.

All right I guess it makes sense the way you put it.On a completely unrelated note here's something quick I whipped up last night and changed from the previous posts.

Going to jigglebone it and probably self illum the texture.

Ok I'm gonna start moving this to be the bat now.
Gonna be less nail action for a while.
Also, my Steering Wheels in Max 2010 just crapped out on me, I'm pressing the shortcut keys but they aren't appearing.

Use the brakes.
Use the brakes.
Clever girl...
I don't think so at all.
Think of it as a rocket, with the needle gun's projectile with splash damage that instead ignites.
But naturally it would be a fireball, not a rocket.
One problem with it is that it's too much like the flaregun
Not necessarily, it could sort of work like the Spitters spit.
Umm can anyone help get me started on the whole ".mdl decompiling" thing?
I know how to model;- but I have no idea how to play around with source files.
When I try running StudioComplier.exe (which is located in D:\Steam\steamapps\mysteamaccount\sourcesdk\bin), I get an error message;

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
It appears like I didn't see that there was another page.

You need to download a Hex Editor and edit the .mdl files so that instead of IDST0 it is IDST,
[editline]04:30PM[/editline]
Wait. It needs to go into bin/ep1/bin

Haha, sorry, forgot to change that bit to oil slick, I just kept thinking of that sound replacement for the fire...

Maya > Create UV > Automatic mapping > Change some of the settings > UV PRODUCED!
It's mainly trial and error.
