I worked on her face over the weekend, here's some crappy Max renders to show where it's at now. The textures are still placeholder, and don't want to get too involved in that until I finalize the geometry. I wanted to soften some of the features on her face without losing the angular shapes or the overall similarities to the Spy.

Also, if you haven't heard it yet, DustyOldRoses is going to be providing the voice pack, and she's recorded a sample with two different possible voices. We've been getting feedback from a few places so far and I think she has a pretty good direction to go with it, but I'd love to hear any suggestions or preferences you might have.

I think the glasses need more work; They look like fighter pilot goggles, lol.
I agree, scratch the inapropriate words,I feel way too atached to the male spy but this does look great!
The legs don't look right in the first four pictures though.
I'm not sure which pictures you're talking about, but it was mentioned by a few people to me that she was leaning too far forward. All the characters do that in the A pose for whatever reason, but I brought her torso back a little so it's not as weird. You can see the latest version in the picture below, I hope that helps with the legs. But lol, I don't care if people prefer the originals. I don't even use mods, to be honest v:
Edit: Wait lol, if you meant that very first picture, that's just a really old rough sketch for costume ideas and is completely irrelevant to my current model. But yeah, the leg definitely looks retarded.

The sunglasses, eh. They're 60's glamor style, but they need to be big to serve the purpose of covering her face. Here's the glasses I used for my reference from a discussion a few pages back, though I've made the lenses a little smaller. But I'm not doing cat-eye or anything like that, I do feel that this style works best.

I have noticed that guys tend to dislike this style of sunglasses more than girls do, since this is pretty much what is in fashion at the moment for women and we've already accepted getting stuck with them for the past ten years or so.
Oh goddamn it. My laptop appears to be dead and my last backup on this is weeks old. Hopefully my hard drive is still in tact, or I'll be re-doing all the progress I made since then. It just went into hibernate last night and never woke up. :(

Is it just me, or does the mouth look like it's a little too low, at least from the side?
Maybe not, I don't know what it is. :ohdear:
Looks good, but I probably won't be using it because my fedora just looks too cool on me

Fedora? Pfft.
Today's fashion is Frenchman Beret. :smugdog:

The first voice sounds like it would be awesome for her normal speech, as it has the same sort of feeling as the normal male Spy's common speech, but for domination lines or making fun of other characters, the second voice should be used. The Spy loses his sophisticated air when he begins to poke fun at his enemies and gets kind of childish, really, so I think the higher, more airy voice would fit much more for those lines.
Nice work so far, though, ChemicalAlia. Hopefully all of your recent work is not lost. :(
I cannot wait for this. The voice actor is perfect, too. Tell her to use the first voice for the darker or more serious lines, and during the laughing snorting lines to use the second voice.
interesting.
you will have my download when it is complete, as long as hats work with it. i dont want my ellis cap being unseen or looking all funky because of that headwrap...

Sounds like people here are thinking pretty much the same thing as on other sites on the voices. Which is good, because I agree with just about everything said and think it's gonna be a pretty awesome voice.
I was able to back up my recent files, thankfully my boyfriend has the same laptop as me from school and I could just retrieve everything with his machine. My computer is under warranty, so I'll try to get it repaired as soon as possible. I'm stuck using my Cintiq as a monitor with a $5 keyboard on an old computer that short circuits every time I plug in a usb cable and no 3ds Max until then, haha. Figures, just as I was planning on reviving this shit. Maybe I can do some fan art, lol.
Hmm havent seen this thread in quite some time
This is going to be the best one yet. The soundpack is top notch, too
Dusty Old Roses is a pretty good voice actor :3
I feel her domination lines need to sound more gleeful and taunting though, and have more of that stereotypically French snobbishness.
Like Lilith from Borderlands.
I got a bunch more lines from DusyOldRoses the other day, and they're really awesome. I spent the past few evenings redoing some parts, like much of the face and the boots. I got better references for the boots (in my closet, lol), and that helped me model out something more believable from all the different angles. I'm pretty satisfied with the model at this point, so I can start texturing it for serious. I hope to have it completed and ready to go as soon as possible.

I don't want to sound picky, but as pretty as this model is, I don't think running with these boots will look... "natural".
Beautiful WIP.

it's a video game, it doesn't really matter
but I agree to an extent

Normally I would agree, but I can't give a female Spy in a game like TF2 practical frumpy shoes like the female Medic got. It just makes more sense to be outlandish when fashion calls for it, for someone like the Spy. I'm trying to allow for slightly silly things on a case by case basis, to represent the personality of each class, to avoid making it seem like everything wears clothes by the same aesthetics or sensibilities.
But yeah, I have a pair of boots like these, and I can't bring myself to wear them anywhere or even walk in them, much less attempt to run. I don't know how some people do it.
The Spy is always running around in his swanky classhole Hugo Boss dress shoes and he gets the job done while still looking fly as hell.
These guys are just haters.

So what happens with the glasses when you have the Fez on? And what about the camera beard?
I think this has more to do with the fact that running in heels that thin is virtually impossible without falling over. Dress shoes, though not intended for combat, aren't nearly as likely to trip you up, so it's not too much of a stretch that Spy can run in them.
So it was a genuine critique. They were just making a recommendation based on something that was bothering them, which ChemicalAlia politely responded to.
Yeah, I definitely want to hear what everybody thinks. If like 8000 people tell me something I did has the opposite effect I intended or don't read something how I meant, I'm most likely going to change it.
That said, I have no clue how people can run in heels, but interestingly there's a high heels race in Russia every year.

Notice the tape around their ankles, lol.
So what happens with the glasses when you have the Fez on? And what about the camera beard?
I'll remove the sunglasses from the fez and include that in the mod pack. With the camera beard, I'll just make sure it attaches in the right spot and fits okay, I think it would be hilarious. Someone suggested a giant bouffant powdered wig with a camera in it, which is also hilarious, but more work too. Not sure what I'll end up doing for that.
Glad this is back. While I don't use these kinds of replacements, it's good to see the ones that release be something that actually matches the art style and silhouette. Keep at it, Alia.

That's pretty mean. I just think it would look weird when running, I understand the necessity of making female model replacements feminine and not just the default male model with boobs. Unless somebody has a glorious idea of a pair of shoes that's both feminine and would look natural in battle, I'd stick with this pair.
You either overreact or you have a very lose definition of "hate".
In all honesty, I think the heels are fine.
It fits Spy's character, I always imagine Spy as the kind of person that thinks that he's professional enough that wearing something less efficient won't be a considerable enough downside if it makes him look classy as hell while doing his work. Why else would he wear a formal suit to battle?
