so the tent doesn't actually need to be there then?
It's an ambiance prop (to make it more "camping")
Taunt idea: The Spy takes out a pack of cards, shuffles it by dropping it from one hand to another in your typical "60's cartoon card shuffling" way and takes out a random card at the end.
The Pro-Camper Step 1) The sniper throw 2 suitcases Step 2) he press the button of each valises (which activate the tent & chair) Step 3) He sit on the chair and wait (could be different; aka making a fire and roast something( the whole taunt could be just sitting on a chair and roasting something))
I could see griefing opportunities where the tent is used to block passageways (assuming it is solid to enemy players).
I think the hat & head item can be cool, but the rest looks a bit too much
A few years ago I would have agreed. Now, hell, Valve doesn't care, it looks cool, go for it! Can someone link me the set posted here that turns Pyro into to TFC Pyro? I forgot to save the image. :D

Was I being salty? Yes, but look at the game as is. That Pyro wouldn't be anything new.
Compared to some of the stuff ingame for Pyro that alters his shilouette
Like what?

Unless you mean his Halloween costumes, but I don't think those really count.
Like what?
nothing in the game changes the pyro's sihoulette enough to not be readable as a pyro. the closest could be the sub zero parka, but even then unless you ignore the HUGE TEAM COLORED MODEL that is the pyro itself, there's barely any kind of readbility issues. unless he means the head replacements, in wich case he's still wrong.
If new players could understand that the Spy goes invisible, what makes your think that they can't understand the Spy hiding in a box?
because one is an ability and the other is turning into a prop???

the idea was the main sniper has the campfire and marshmallow, and other snipers can join in with him with a sleeping bag and a coffee mug.
the second one is basically the rancho relaxo for sniper.
If we want a camping Sniper taunt so bad, why not just keep it basic and have him spawn a chair prop and a coffee mug prop? The animation could just be him sitting in the chair, occasionally sipping from the mug, like in Meet the Sniper, except he isn't using his Sniper Rifle because it's a taunt and it would confuse people.
First would be tricky because there's a tri limit on the prop.
That's probably because this was designed before we new about the prop tri limit, if i were to re-concept it at most a small camp fire, the marshmallow stick, and the sleeping bag would be used on the main one.
I guess i throw my old idea also in, i posted a while ago here: [t]http://i.imgur.com/yidPVC4.png[/t]
here, have another approach at the "sniper camp" taunt. the kick is that people would see sniper jumping if used for a killcam.
i'm not stopping people, but i'd really like to see less spy and sniper taunts and give one of the many classes in the game some. I don't think medic or pyro etc have any on the workshop. meanwhile spy and sniper make up 75% of the workshop.
purely coincidence.
purely coincidence.
alright and now that people can look at it in perspective they have the option to think about if valve will ever get tired of an oversaturation of spy taunts
Hey guys I'm working on this retro futuristic blaster and I'd like to know how I could Improve it and make it look better. Also if someone is interested about texturing it you can add me on steam. Steam id Mooses Suuri ps. Dont mind the shitty hlmv images I just wanted to see what it looked like even if it's unfinished.
A new player could also get fooled by a Spy suddenly turning invisible, or by a Spy under disguise. Should they remove cloaking and the disguise kit because new players could get confused? No. This is the exact reason we didn't get Snowplow.
Taunts should be exactly that - taunts. Something pointless that the player does because they are so confident in their ability over their opponent that they can get away with doing so. They should not have any serious practical application unless they are tied to a weapon.

Spy shouldn't be completely still with it anyways, that would be kinda boring. Would be best if he'd rustle around and try to get comfortable, maybe put his hand out and wave or something to mock the enemy team every now and then.
