Re-designed an old mod idea of mine, turning Heavy's lunchbox items into drinks:
The Russian's Refreshments

Would require custom animations for the new hand positioning, and for drinking instead of eating. Bonk's drinking noise could probably be reused. Bitten bodygroups would be replaced with the glasses being half empty.[sp]Yes, I'm aware shrimp cocktail isn't a drink, that's the joke.[/sp]

shockingly nothing vodka based
Quick idea for a taunt that could use the drinks:

Taunt has him sit down and kinda lean back, holding his current primary, take out a drink and relax. Activate-able/toggle-able like the rancho relaxo.

Funny enough, the Peach Bellini actually is a mod already, albeit without any custom animations or hand positioning.

Not too shabby though.
A lot of these taunt ideas seem like half baked, boring taunts that are just the mercs doing a random thing. Taunts shouldn't rely completely on the prop. It's like making a theme park based around genetically engineered dinosaurs; you were so caught up in that you could that you didn't stop to think if you should.

I would agree with you normally in this situation when it comes to taunts, but there is also the fact that of the few "boring" taunts that are currently in-game, a lot of people express a want for more like them.
Rancho Relaxo is a pretty good example, its just engi relaxing in a chair, almost entirely reliant on the prop. People love this taunt even as simple as it is with engineer just chilling.
I can't even begin to tell you how many times i've been on a fun server in which the majority of the people on the server are talking over voice chat about how they want more "just chilling" toggle-able taunts. So its entirely in the eyes of the beholder as to whether or not a taunt has to be super flashy or not.

Seconded. most of the taunt-cepts lacks taunt value, including the heavy reading the book in the midst of the battlefield

does the current importer support such taunts (and partner taunts) ?

Its been brought up before that just because there's an example of a low bar set in the game doesn't mean that bad concepts are any better or acceptable.
There is also a difference between the Rancho Relaxo and some of these taunts. Rancho Relaxo is something you taunt people with, it says "I'm so good of an engie I can let my buildings kill everybody while I just sit here relaxing." An offensive class doing something boring and unrelated to his character in the corner of badlands isnt a taunt. I'm not against toggle-able taunts, just against any "[Insert class] pulls out chair and does [Insert any verb]" kind of taunts. If the concept isn't worth the effort of drawing a few frames to show the concept of the animation, it probably isnt going to be something that a whole lot of people want to spend $5 or whatever on.

This is where I mention, again, that not all taunts need to be flashy or be the act of taunting a person. The several partner taunts are a good example of this, sure they can be taken as an insult or a taunt, however they aren't entirely used for this.
You can look at it like an item/taunt designer like "Is it insulting/flashy enough?" or you can look at it as "Is it something people who play the game for fun/casually would like?"
Either way most taunts, even "just chill" taunts, could be taken as an insult. "Oh, it was so easy to kill you i'm just gonna chill now that you are dead" or anything along those lines. Theres a large TF2 player-base, not all of them want to insult or taunt people, some do want to insult or taunt people. Like i mentioned previously, whether or not a taunt has to be super flashy or not is in the eyes of the user.

afaik, The importer now supports normal, 5 seconds taunts, and 10 second looping taunts. I don't think it supports partner taunts or moving (ie conga) taunts

Does he do anything other than squat? Its pretty boring how it is.
Set itself looks good, but the taunt could use some more variation.
Mods for those?

Yeah, this taunt is almost like the bottle is a sandvich mod and he's just crouching :v:
Finally managed to model the trange transfer machine for rendering. Here is a base model render.

I'm pretty sure i wont be able to texture this thing very well. I know I'm terrible with texturing. Will give it a shot. I will give unwraps to anyone interested.

Monster Hunter 4 was a big reason I haven't worked on stuff recently. But I'm still working on the Sharp Shooter remake! Changed a few things around to which I personally find more aesthetically pleasing, but I worry it's missing something (besides textures). Any critique would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys,
first concept in a long time,
it's a "Lanzknecht" hat for the medic.

Feather could be jiggleboned or paintable.
It's up for grabs :downs:
Well i took a shot at it, it took me a fair few hours. best texturing i can do. I really tried.
here is my best render with texture

Tone down the red color
Hey guys, long time fan, first time commenter, (great stuff on here!),
IDK if its just me, but there are some colors on some weapons that seem.........off to me. For example, IDK if its just me, but the color of the buff banner backpack just doesn't look right on a BLU soldier. IDK if someone made a skin for this where it has the right team colors (if so, link?).
if by right mean it not having a blue tint, i'm p sure the brown is neutral enough to not be an issue.

How about making an alternate style where it is just a beaten up face? It would go well not only with the tracksuit, but with various boxing items, as well as some "gop"-style caps (Fur-lined Fighter or Trash Man). In addition, a gopnik with an uncovered head (at a street) would much more plausible than a boxer with a winter cap (on a ring).
Now, there was a certain case: A contributor complained about the wiki pages of Medic's "Nunhood" and "Angel of Death" items, stating that these were intended to be a simple hood and a robe similar to those of healing mages in various RPGs, while in the wiki they were described as types of religious clothes.
Actually, I was the one who wrote most of these items' wiki description, and I mistook(?) them for religious clothes because of the items' descriptions (one mentioned religion, while another mentioned a cross) and "Pope's Robes" - a name of the robe cosmetic which actually resembled the Pope's clothing. Then, suddenly, the creator claimed that their items and decriptions were jokes.
So the question is:
Is Emporium a fitting place for asking such "for TF2 wiki/out of curiosity" questions as "What is this item supposed to be? Is this supposed to reference something? Did I describe it right?.." about not the freshly-made items, but about those old ones which are already in-game? Many item creators, including the reference-loving ones, frequently post here, so it becomes more likely that a contibutor would see a question about their item and respond to it; furthermore, as a result, a lot of people will see and know it.
Or are such questions considered "off topic" there and should asked in other places, such as (sadly, unlikely-to-be-responded) private messages?
Hello, trying to make part of a model invisible, I know the VMT line is 'nodraw' but I forgot exactly how to lay it out.
$no_draw 1
or
$nodraw 1
i personally forgot which one, just try both and see which actually works
