There is no way to remove the scout's backpack as there is no bodygroup that hides. All of his backpack items in-game are modeled around it. Your idea cannot be done as we cannot directly edit the player models.
The SFM scout model has the bodygroup the removes the entire bag including the strap, but sadly the player model scout lacks this making custom backpacks limited.
I want to edit the scouts model and remove the backpack, I'm not talking body groups or making a item, I want to physically remove the backpack but keep the bones so backpack items attach to the strap. I just wanted help with edit the existing model of scout, not removing body groups or anything

My computer had to be formatted and now I can't compile models anymore. I don't remember what I did to make HLMV, GuistudioMDL and all that jazz work. Someone mind telling me how it's done nowadays? I mean things like decompiling models, preparing the .qc and compiling it again.
I don't see why they can't use the disguise mask mechanic as a cosmetic item that overrides everything instead of it being a body group on the player model.
This so much. It's almost pointless to having any Spy cosmetics since it's your job to be disguised most of the time.

Because it's a way to recognize what Class the Spy is disguised as and whether he's on your team from a distance.
Because it's a way to recognize what Class the Spy is disguised as and whether he's on your team from a distance.
But he's saying it should just be an attached model like hats are, excepting overriding your cosmetics, instead of a bodygroup. I don't think it would make a difference, would it?

When spy disguises, all cosmetics on his body are hidden. This was added as a workaround to when the Camera Beard clipped with the disguise mask.

Wow that's a horrible workaround
Atleast define a list of cosmetics to hide while disguised but jeez
I finally got a chance to finish a set I was working on months ago.

...What? It already does that.
...What? It already does that.
somewhat like how the sniper glasses fix mod makes the shades part of his hat bodygroup, a mod that makes the backpack maybe not actually be part of his base model, but be part of backpack items instead? thats what im reading

...Aren't we talking about the Spy's disguise masks?
...What? It already does that.
The disguise mask is a body group that is part of the Spy's model with it's own additional and cumbersome skin groups. What I meant, as charon stated, is having the disguise mask being an attached model just like how the cosmetics are, but it'll override certain cosmetics that occupy the facial area.
Valve should really leave this kind of work to the community if they can't do it right.
...Aren't we talking about the Spy's disguise masks?
well now im lost
Has anyone made a skin for the AWPer Hand that has actual modeled parts on it instead of the illusion of detail the normal map gives it, and also adds the missing parts?
When spy disguises, all cosmetics on his body are hidden. This was added as a workaround to when the Camera Beard clipped with the disguise mask.
I guess I could understand this complaint, but there's really no way to solve it in a way that'll make the majority happy and/or not break Spies even more than they already are broken.
You set the bodygroups so only the face cosmetics are removed when the Spy is disguised, and A. it's still only your teammates that see the cosmetics, assuming you aren't behind the enemy like a Spy should be, and B. The face cosmetics, or, for that matter, any Spy cosmetic that adds to or modifies the face in any way would still have the problem (43 different cosmetics just going off references, not actually testing the clipping, would be guaranteed to either massively clip with or completely cover up the masks).
Not to mention the cascade of bugs that'd roll in if this was added. There are still problems with halloween footprint spells on disguised Spies, imagine the shit that'd go down if unusual effects weren't just immediately covered up by disguises like they are now.

I love how "something quick" by Colteh is superior to all the other items of its kind I've ever seen on the workshop.
