What do you mean? I'm confused because om not good at reading emotions, so i want to know if you like it or not. Also, the silver part on the stock is modified to move when a shell is ejected ( After i took that picture, i moved the part up), and when the gun is reloading. It looks awesome in first person view.
Can I see a video of it in first person? And I assume he was just being nice.

There isn't anything bad about the widowmaker model wise.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GspisZe.png[/t] Well.....that looks better What do you think?
I've got to admit, it doesn't look like there's any real consistent design throughout this model. The stock looks like it comes from a completely different gun, the handle and trigger look badly merged with the stock, the front grip doesn't really look like it fits with the rest of the gun, and the "rail" or whatever it is at the top doesn't really seem to serve any purpose. Additionally, the silver bit at the side doesn't really seem to fit with the end of the barrel at the front, if it is meant to be part of that. If not, then I really can't tell what it's meant to be. The screws/bolts seem to be pretty large too, and one of them is going directly through the area the laser sight would need to be to work. It's hard to tell from the side shots too, but the main body of the gun looks pretty boxy, which really wouldn't be visually interesting to look at in first person. It doesn't help that most of the texture is primarily black/dark grey with the only detail that I can see is what looks like overdone edge wear. It's really hard to work out what sort of weapon it's meant to be as well. I can't tell if it's a shotgun, some sort of rifle, or something else entirely. While the model is a big improvement from things you've done in the past, there's still a lot of work that would need doing to bring it up to the quality of other items.

One person said it needed a different stock, and i think thats where all of the problems came in. I'll still try to work on this version, but like someone said i dont really know how guns work, and i like being creative but my designs usually mean that it wont make sense in the real world. I wanted this shotgun to be kinda futuristic, so it might not make a whole lot of sense, but then again neither does the widowmaker :P.
While using a more fitting stock will help, that won't solve the other issues I brought up. The first person video you posted has brought up a few more issues, though. The model looks incredibly boxy, almost like it could fit into a voxel game or something similar. The silver sections on the sides are incredibly sunken into the gun too, which is just odd to look at compared to the other weapons in the game. The closest examples would probably be the ejection ports of shotguns, and they're far from being that sunk in. That rail at the top seems to have some sort of iron sight on it, but it's really hard to tell what purpose it's meant to serve, which just makes it even harder to work out what sort of gun it is supposed to be. There is no real issue with being creative with your designs, but I'd say that the weapons should still make sense in the real world. While yes, the Widowmaker doesn't really make much sense in TF2 with its stats, how the weapon works is more or less shown in Deus Ex. It is a shotgun, and the cylinder at the front is where the shells are kept, and that cylinder gets removed for reloads. However, your weapon doesn't really make any sense at all. There's no indication of what sort of weapon it is, what sort of thing it fires, how/if it reloads, and so on. There isn't even really a single futuristic element to the weapon at all. It looks more like a messy design of elements of different modern weapons. And while this bit may become irrelevant if you change the stock, it is still something to bring up, as part of it appears could be relevant to what parts you put on weapon. That grey part on the stock moving back is neat and all, I really don't see what purpose it serves. Is it meant to be some part of the mechanism of the gun? If so, why does it move back? I seem to remember you wanting to use the Widowmaker firing animation for this weapon, and if that is the case, why does that section move back at all? The Widowmaker firing animation doesn't involve the Engineer moving back any parts of the gun, unlike the shotguns where he pulls the pump back. If it doesn't use the Widowmaker firing animation, then the grip really needs to be turned into a proper pump, and there needs to be all the normal shotgun elements. Personally, at this point I would scrap the model, and then create some clear concept art that fits the animations, has a consistent design throughout, and is visually interesting. That'd allow you to refer back to the concept art, so the design would be more consistent, if you still wanted to make the model. Obviously, posting the concept art here too would help other people iron out the issues with that.

I'd use it as a re-skin for it if there was a download for it. :)
About the grip thing: There's one shotgun that this reminds me of that does the regular-sized receiver followed by a hulking barrel thing. The Spas-12. [t]http://wstrainingacademy.com/files/SPAS%2012.jpg[/t]
The 'hulking barrel thing' is a heat shield, designed to absorb heat from the barrel and dissipate it into the air. The SPAS-12's heat shield is considered one of its most iconic elements, chiefly because it gives the weapon an unusually "square" shape, particuly when viewed from the top.

It looks really nice, but i can't vote until i have a decent idea of how it looks ingame.
Just out of curiosity, what are other people's experiences with the "private developer comments" on their workshop items? For those who had their items added, did the TF2 team ask for minor improvements to be made as a precursor to your item being added? I'm just wondering how they even use that section, it's not that I'm expecting anything specific :B
Olden days they used to just say things like "nice!" Lately they ask for updates on items they want, changes to various things, or fixes. Communication is no guarantee, ofc. They're few and far between, and really only done out of necessity these days. Even then, they're just simple "do this, do that, fix it, let us know" messages, no longer conversations like back in the olden days.
So they'll actually give you a chance to fix some things to their preference if they like the item as a whole. That's good at least.

I know the Prohibition Opposition got a comment about a small vertex normal issue on the lod2 or something. It was fixed and not added.

After what happened to the EOTL map makers, my confidence is not incredibly high...

Looks great, but shame we don't have more in-depth bodygroups. Right now his arms look massive but that's not much of a criticism since there's literally nothing you can do about it.

My Roboot crossed 9000 approval votes today and has been sitting near the top of the Engy charts for over a year. You'd think that would at least warrant a "Good job."
You guys used this exact same reasoning to justify items such as the jester set for Scout a couple of pages back, in response to Radaghast. Huge fucking difference.

You jam your hand up in there and you'll nick it something awful.
I meant this: That gun looks uncomfortable as fuck to hold, and if it has the recoil of a shotgun, it's gonna hurt you as well as them. And I feel like the pump should go OVER the heat shield somehow, since as it is, it looks like you'll have to jam your fingers into that tiny gap in order to get a good grip. You wrap your hands around grips, you don't just pinch the sides of them.
