[IMG]http://i.imgur.com/Eti2tTR.png[/IMG] Anyone up for help me improve it?[/QUOTE] consider adding shadows and less flatshapes in order to give it more depth and help the modeler understand the overall shape of the desing. adding a few more views (front, top, etc) would also help whoever models it. desing wise, however, looks extremely flat. right now its more or less a cardboard cutout. there are some shapes you need to take into account when developing a gun, like the grip having a more rouned shape so it would be more comfortable to hold, or how the gun's firing mechanism are integrated into the weapon iself. those elements help make the gun look more like a functional element and less like a toy.
Did anyone catch that updated mat phong fix? I kinda lost it here.

I don't think .gif handles transparent outline borders, so that's the reason of the no anti-alias broders. ([B]Edit[/B]: Made a .gif with white background, so the border looks fine). Decided to try my hand at a concept, based on a certain [URL="http://timesplitters.wikia.com/wiki/Henchman"]henchman.[/URL] [IMG]http://puu.sh/fkrG9/5decdd4f64.jpg[/IMG] I'll be making the model, I just made the concept for practice (the first thing I've ever finished with the tablet I got last year, in fact) and to see how it would work in terms of team identification. Does this mess with the Heavy's color scheme too much? Yellow boots and gloves will be included, haven't bothered to draw them. I'll do an Engineer version eventually, gonna see if I can get any feedback here first. [editline]February 2015[/editline] Looking back this is actually pretty awful. Looking at ways to incorporate the vest color right now.

Second design is too neutral. Would definietly help having some more red, for example imitating the vest: Making all but the chest red as it was, so it looks like he has the vest on.

Red, white, and the colour of the Heavy's pants are what you should work with, and red should make sense. It honestly doesn't make sense. I'd say just start over, and as much as I hate to say it, you shouldn't really take input from Ikes. Even if he's improving, he still has a lot to learn when it comes to concepts, and you should ask somebody with a lot more experience with item and/or concept art. The first concept of the item looks okay, but the pants should end at the same place they usually end, without getting bigger around the Heavy's midsection. The second is really just a clusterfuck. You can't slap a giant one-piece suit over the Heavy's kevlar vest, it looks unusually bulky and just ugly, especially if you're using the colour of the vest, and there's way too little team recognition. Work around the vest, don't try and cover it up. My best recommendation would be giving the kevlar vest a giant zipper all the way down, using the shirt underneath it as the base for the workout gear(?) (assuming that's what you're concepting), and using either neutral white or cream spirit for details.
The thing is that I want to avoid having the vest on as a separate piece of clothing, seeing as the whole thing is meant to be a reference to the Timesplitters Henchman (which in itself is a parody of generic henchmen in silly suits from old spy movies). If it's not just one big jumpsuit it kinda ruins that imo. I've been trying the whole evening to incorporate the vest color into the suit itself, but I can't figure it out.
