It's my first item released in workshop... [t]http://i.imgur.com/qsIjm7R.jpg[/t] http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=386842243 Any.. thoughts? Except the texture. I know that texture is bad, but at least it's better than what i did before. TF2's artstyle is hard to get into. Like... Really hard.
Actually, the texture is one of the most important parts of an item, no matter how good your model is, if you have a bad texture, your model will look bad. As much as it's always good to learn new things, if you are not very fond with this kind of thing you can just ask if someone wants to texture it. At the moment I think the model is way too simple for a weapon and might need some more details, take a look at the other weapons on the Workshop and you'll get a good idea of it. Those team-colored straps look completely unnecessary and unfitting for such a weapon, why is it even there? Just think about it like this: If you worked at Valve, would you say this weapon looks good enough to be in one of Valve's biggest games? If yes, go ahead. If no, keep tweaking it until you think it's perfect. It's a nice first try, just keep practicing and don't jump the gun. Sorry for the wall of text, gonna try to keep it short next time.
Been working on a 4 piece TFC pyro set recently: cosmetics are wip and flamethrower is very wip.
please tell me the 4th piece is the weapon 4 cosmetics would hurt.
please tell me the 4th piece is the weapon 4 cosmetics would hurt.
The set's split into the mask, the suit, the gloves/boots and the flamethrower, with the tank being part of the flamethrower, so 3 cosmetics and 1 weapon.

something
I'd make the shirt flap's edge thicker or increase the AO on it or something. It would look very washed out and probably not visible from anymore than a little bit away.
fixed :)
something
I would say that I think it needs a more exaggerated collar, but I personally think that about every Medic coat that doesn't have an exaggerated collar. Looks really good, especially the colours.
I know this is a bit of a polerzing topic here, but I think those cosmics change the color scheme too much. The pack makes the pyro much darker then the default pyro. Its very well made though. You may need to tone down the camofluage and and add team color to the center of the armor to help reduce the darkness.
Honestly I think it looks fine. I can still tell it's Pyro.

Would it be possible to make the vest badge Decal-able?
Would it be possible to make the vest badge Decal-able?
dont think so since importer doesnt support decals afaik
https://skfb.ly/CMWS I feel like I'm reaching a good place with this. Please let me know if you have any crits, and if anyone would be interested in potentially texturing this thing at some point, let me know.
I was looking through tf2 concept art, and has anyone made this as a replacement to the default shotgun yet? [t]http://www.teamfortress.com/images/artwork/concept/shotgun_color.jpg[/t]
something
Make the pockets look not pixelated? You know like make them be part of the model and not just textures?
https://skfb.ly/CMWS I feel like I'm reaching a good place with this. Please let me know if you have any crits, and if anyone would be interested in potentially texturing this thing at some point, let me know.
You still have lots of smoothing errors, unless that is just that viewing site being terrible. Bottom front of the handle. Top of the lower trigger ring. Far end of the hammer. Sides of the trigger are faceted, front it not. Smoothing on the inside of the barrel looks strange and faceted. Top of the handle under the hammer doesn't look like it is smoothing right. You also need to make some kind of space for the hammer to fit into in the handle. Just don't intersect the geometry and call it a day. On the real gun that hammer slots INTO the handle. Smoothing errors are the simplest things to see and fix in a model, it just takes a minute to look at every part of the model and make sure you have you edges set right. There is no 'fast and easy' way to do it, you just have to do it. Even on the most complex TF2 model setting edges correctly would take minutes at most. It takes just a few minutes of work but your models will look much better as a result.
Here's a SMG concept: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Qq7rlwl.png[/t] Tell me how I can improve on this.
If you cant beat em...join em I suppose

[t]http://www.teamfortress.com/images/artwork/concept/shotgun_color.jpg[/t]
Closest I can find is this:
Gives so much more control, I recommend doing it as you model instead of at the end tho s3pirion
I meant that if you look at the degree number that makes all the smoothing errors go away, then unselect edge angle and go to view-sharp or something like that and enter that degree number it will show you what angles it will mark sharp, from there you choose which ones to mark. Its no substitute for manually doing it, sorry if it sounded that way. Progress update: Decided to go with team colors after all. Still base colors Refrenced the colors from the eureaka effect. Me and NassimO need your opinion, we're looking for a slogan for the dispenser poster we're working on. Which slogan do you prefer? Would ya look at that! (agree) Yippee-kai-yay! (disagree) Heck yes! (funny) Oh joy! (winner) Easy job! (zing) Oh boy! (dumb) They all end with 'It's the brand new dispense-o-matic 9000'. Other suggestions are welcome too.

I see that you decided to keep the cylinder round instead of flattening it. [t]http://watermarked.cutcaster.com/cutcaster-photo-100168209-Pipe-Wrench.jpg[/t] The notches still have to follow the shape of a screw. It appears that there's a bunch of doughnuts stacked on top of each other instead of forming a spiral groove. You could spin the adjusting nut and nothing would go up or down.

Thanks for all the information though. Again, it really does help.
