The cylinder looks [I][B]awfully[/B][/I] small in comparison to everything else, and in particular it makes the barrel seem both too large in diameter and too long. There's also some general oddness to the handle and the furniture under the barrel. When resting in Spy's hand, the grip of the gun juts down way too far - I'd guess what would in real life be at least an inch. A proper handgun grip really shouldn't extend much further than the edge of the pinkie finger, otherwise it ends up being dead weight that serves no purpose. The barrel furniture has a similar problem. Being a revolver, there's no slide, no heat shield, no forward magazine well, et cetera - so there's really no functional reason to have anything beneath the barrel and in front of the trigger guard. That alone is not a problem - a bit of extra furniture to give the gun some visual bulk and solidity is perfectly acceptable, and from a practical standpoint it could serve as a form of recoil compensation by making the barrel heavier. But the proportions here are a bit too big - which further exaggerates the issue between the cylinder and barrel. There's also some odd choices in terms of edges that make this section of the gun look out of place. * The upper portion of the furniture is [I][B]very[/B][/I] square, which is another thing making the cylinder look too small, by comparison. * The front portion has that odd bit jutting out under the square edge of the upper portion, which looks awkward here, and seems like something you'd see on a semi-automatic weapon with a slide. * The lower portion extends down past the bottom of the trigger guard, which is very unusual for a handgun. * The lighter colored metal plates held in place by screws look like removeable covers for a rifle-sized magazine well, which already makes little sense on a revolver, but makes even less on one with a small diameter barrel and an even smaller looking cylinder. * Taken together, the rear edge of both the upper portion of the receiver and the lower plates form an almost entirely vertical line which breaks up the shape of the weapon - making this section look even more like it doesn't belong. All around, it looks like someone took a revolver and just stuck the barrel through a piece of furniture meant for an entirely different and much larger gun, like an SMG or perhaps a carbine rifle. I kinda get what you were going for, and I like the general flavor of the extra elements, but I feel like it needs a little love to make it all look more cohesive - like it all [I][B]belongs[/B][/I] together. I'd be interested to see a version 2.0 on the workshop down the road.
[QUOTE=TheJukebox;46950681][t]http://puu.sh/eCDzh/b431a3f776.png[/t][/QUOTE] I feel as though the antennas protruding from the base of the Tesla Coil are too small a detail. I think the gun would benefit from them being thickened or (better yet) removed entirely.

Vote em up if you like em!
Upvoted! Also, amusing/interesting find: apparently there's an older, seemingly unrelated monocle + moustache item [URL="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=102729642"]on the workshop[/URL] that's almost the exact same thing with essentially the same name, but not quite as high quality. See, Valve? Proof that the people long for facial dapperness in ye olde style!
o wow, well anyone with any good ideas for names for the monocle/moustache item, now would be a good time to step in :p
[QUOTE=NeoDement;46951040]o wow, well anyone with any good ideas for names for the monocle/moustache item, now would be a good time to step in :p[/QUOTE] 'Sumptuous Souptrap' is the best I can come up with for the monocle. The cap's a difficult one, though.

The Unflappable Upperlip? Also it looks amazing on the medic, I'll be holding out for a mod download.

[url]http://imgur.com/86Lkiqz[/url] Che Guevara based soldier concept up for grabs. Sorry for the hand drawn image, I have nothing computer based to work with
[QUOTE=Cosa8888;46950095]There are no transformations either on the bones or the model. I don't know what could it be[/QUOTE] Double check and try moving the model and root bone to origin.
So I figured I'd try my hand at my first ever item concept. I have no artistic experience to speak of, but it's a very simple design and I somehow didn't screw it up too badly, I think. [QUOTE=perrryz;46950486]wip [img]http://puu.sh/eCygV/cb477f6396.jpg[/img][/QUOTE] I think you should thicken the rims of the goggle a bit. Right now they almost look like they are apart of the mask.
So what happened to the Emporium 60? We can't of filled up all the extensions
[QUOTE=MechaBoundDwa;46952117]So what happened to the Emporium 60? We can't of filled up all the extensions[/QUOTE] Facepunch went back to the "5,000 post cap" rule. The last emp was well over that so it got locked.
[QUOTE=FiveEyes;46952129]Facepunch went back to the "5,000 post cap" rule. The last emp was well over that so it got locked.[/QUOTE] Ok thanks
I've never actually modeled a revolver, so forgive me if this sounds stupid, but which part do alot of you start on (the barrel, handle, frame, etc) and do alot of you model from the same shape, or make new shapes for different parts
I started mine with the handle, and used seperate meshes for each part of it
Separate meshes would be best for a revolver, the organic and complex shapes are going to make it have loads of wasted tris if you try to connect them. Connect it where you can ofc. I start with the cylinder then move onto the handle or frame depending on which needs more work.
Can someone confirm that valve removed the ability to add images via html in the item's description in the workshop? The IMG tags stopped working for me yesterday! EDIT: Found the issue! IMG tag stopped working, but writing it in lowercase works! Strange...
They work fine here
[t]http://i.imgur.com/8grh9Pj.png[/t] I make this because can't get knife in cs:go [editline]17th January 2015[/editline] Guys, pack mod by itemtoast and got a bug: Alpha channel is white. Anyone have solution?
That texture looks like it has been compressed to 16 colors.
[QUOTE=UberMunchkin;46953602]Aw man, that reminded me of a concept I've wanted to do for a while now :v: [editline]17th January 2015[/editline] Nothing much, but still: [t]http://i.imgur.com/1fg0X1E.png[/t][/QUOTE] having an upside down knife on soldier would result in it being invisible in view due to how far down he holds it. Same thing goes for sniper, and to boot he'd just stab himself in the arms the way he swings his melees. Svdl and I made a knife with the same idea for demo however and that worked out pretty well consider he holds his bottle up quite far up in first person. Also, realistically very few people fight with knives held that way. Especially not soldiers with military CQC training (or even just madmen who [I][B]think[/B][/I] they're soldiers with CQC training). Basically it's the equivalent of holding your pistol "Gangsta Style" with a side grip - no practical purpose in all but the rarest circumstances, and only regularly employed by amateurs. It works for Demoman because of the drunken factor (and, as blaholtzen points out, the higher view model and animations), but it's not really suitable for Soldier because even though he's [I][B]not[/B][/I] actually a professional, he wants to [I][B]believe[/B][/I] he is.
Or you know, if you want to stab downwards?
